Chair's Report This is the first report that I have written as Chair and it has been a busy year. In 2017 we began the process of structural change and this is starting to r e a p r e w a r d s n o w . P r o j e c t s a r e m o r e c o n s i s t e n t i n terms of service delivery and staff have structure and support to enable them deliver in their posts. During the 2017/18 year funders began to look at how they commission and fund services. This caused concern as we expected our income to be affected. After a couple of years of being in deficit the Board decided to grasp the nettle and look at areas where Adref can maximise funding and reduce costs – hence the Budget Review subcommittee was created. As 90% of Adref costs are staff costs this has obviously been a period of uncertainty for staff but I hope that we have managed to make savings and avoid staff redundancies. I thank them for their steadfastness during this period and still managing to deliver exceptional services for our service users. Can I also pass my thanks on to the Board for their o n g o i n g c o m m i t m e n t t o t h e c h a r i t y a n d d e c i s i o n making during the year. Bryn Davies adref
