kia ora koutou i hope everyone enjoyed the calendars that they ordered and they are going to good homes for christmas this week miss crabb is working with a small group of learners who auditioned to work on a mural for the papamoa east shopping centre congratulations to emma and danielle in ngata 3 madison and alex in nagata 4 cameron and kaya in ngata 2 and sahria in sheppard 3 we had almost the whole school try out for the opportunity to be part of this group ­ it is fantastic that so many children were interested there will be further opportunities for the children to be part of developing our school murals in the future welcome to myah who started last week and to caylum who will start in sheppard 2 this week help wanted with athletics day nearing we need help to create a new long jump pit if you are able to help with the athletics day organisation that would be greatly appreciated too we have only 3 helpers and we need 12 if you are able to help us with this please email emma on ehoggard@goldensands.school.nz your help is much appreciated yearbook we are currently putting together a very special memory of our foundation year ­ our first year book a special thank you must go to carmen and tui for all the photos that we have been able to use and also to angela werder for the organisation of the work it will be exciting to see the proof when it comes back to us watch this space for further information about ordering one or many enrolments thank you to all those people who have hurried along friends and neighbours to ensure that their enrolments are in on time we have had an outstanding response and are very excited about all the new families joining us next year if there is anyone else that you know intends on coming to our school next year please encourage them to bring enrolments into the office urgently bryan and bobby blue light this is a free show that our children were fortunate to attend this morning the show is run by the police ask your children what they learnt golden sands drive please be very careful driving down golden sands drive we have had a couple of close calls while on duty remember our children can t see drivers easily from the roundabout and speeding out of the school is dangerous too our new crossing will not be installed until the school holidays so please be careful swimming for 2012 after consultation earlier in the year you told us that you would be happy to pay for swimming lessons we have managed to negotiate an excellent rate for a block of 10 swimming lessons for all children next year the lessons will be a full 30 minute lesson with trained swimming instructors our older children who trialled this programme this year really improved their swimming plan for between $45 and $55 for the whole course term dates term 4 term 1 2012 25 october 14 december 31 january term 4 calendar brian and bobby blue light sheppard habitat trip year 3 4 girls self defence teacher only day athletics day lunch sausage sizzle juicie board of trustees meeting final assembly 11am lunch sausage sizzle juicie beach day last day of school 12.30pm finish 8 nov 11 nov 15 nov 18 nov 25 nov 25 nov 28 nov 9 dec 9 dec 12 dec 14 dec bot news the bot would like to welcome andrew taute as our newly appointed trustee andrew brings an interest in tikanga maori and a strong sporting background he also has teaching aspirations we look forward to working with you andrew!

scholastic book club please ensure that you have your scholastic book club orders in by this friday 11 november frogss bayfair christmas wrapping fundraiser we are just looking for a few more helpers for the christmas wrapping can you help please we have two hour slots available between 9am 5pm on thursday 15 december in groups of two people we have stands running if you can please help or a nana or friend may like to help it is a bit of fun for a few hours great excuse to go shopping afterwards in peace and quiet and is one of our bigger fundraisers for the year please text or call sally on 021 254 2744 or e-mail sally at sally.stuart@xtra.co.nz fundraising lunches there will be two fundraising lunches for term 4 athletics day fri 25 november and the day of final assembly fri 9 december these lunches are one of the only year-round fundraising efforts we do and your support is greatly appreciated cheap cd s we are looking to purchase some cds to go with the yearbooks does anyone know where we can purchase approx 40 cds cheaply or even better for free please text angela on 027 6464944 or email angela_werder@xtra.co.nz sport notices flipperball results golden sands dolphins lost 20-1 goal scorers matthew 1 congratulations golden sands wave jumpers won 9-3 goal scorers cassie 1 harry 1 and pearl 7 draw sunday 13th november please take note of the amended draw time white caps blue caps 1:00pm golden sands dolphins vs papamoa pipis 2:00pm omanu jiving jellfish vs golden sands wave jumpers please be at the pool 30 min before the game as we are able to have a 30 min practice softball results we lost 20-10 congratulations to maddie pompey who was awarded player of the day practice will be on mondays from 3:15 ­ 4:15pm at mt primary school transport provided children should be delivered home by 4:45pm game is on saturday 12th november and starts 9:30am at carlton park please be there by 9am sharp t-ball results we lost 30-23 game is on saturday 12th november and starts at 8:30am at carlton park please be there by 8am sharp
