page 3 on october 11 our cadets participated in the flag lowering ceremony at the texas state fair our cadets at gphs jrotc were recognized for an outstanding performance and were selected as the best overall out of the jrotc s that participated our cadets were complimented by many in the audience and a retired marine that said i have never seen any cadets handle the colors in such a respectful manner

we went to the ot meet at samuel crawford park in dallas on 15 oct our cadets prepared for the ot meet by stretching and doing a few stationary exercises once we were done stretching we went to go get our times to begin c/pfc preston price earned a gold medal for 1st place in the yellow-b course upon finishing the course we had lunch drank plenty of water and got ready to head home page 4

after weeks of preparation our cadets were surprised to hear that their first drill meet was canceled we were informed once we had arrived ready to give it our best once we heard the news we got back on the bus we got accountability to insure all our cadets were back and we headed home to get ready for the next one page 3
