phone 358 5204 email ­ office@milson.school.nz cell 027 362 5008 fax 358 2697 week 1 term 4 2011 website ­ www.milson.school.nz 27 october 2011 p ­ positivity/participation r ­ respect/responsibility i ­ individuality/integrity d ­ determination e ­ empathy/excellence contents ­ week 1 term 4 with only an 8 week term this is going to be a 1 principal s comment very busy time for everyone there are lots of 2 messages and exciting events to look forward to including our information visiting performers pae tamariki athletics ptp 3 cricket success parent teacher pupil conferences end of year 4 visiting performer graduations and prize givings as well as many 5 flipper ball success other happenings the focus this week is very 6 pta news much on getting our kapa haka group ready for 7 community notices pae tamariki on wednesday a separate notice 8 coming events will come home to those pupils today with details about this event if you want to see our school perform we will be on stage around 1.45 pm on wednesday 2 nd at regent on broadway gold coin admission our thanks to the many parents who have supported this group in so many ways we will report back next week on how it all went you will also get a chance to see the group perform at our prize giving in december postie plus uniform sale we have been advised that postie plus are having a school uniform sale today from 9am ­ 7pm overdue library books readers ­ please ensure overdue library books and school readers are returned to school asap as you know this is a short term and a stocktake needs to be completed before the end of term enable subsidy information ­ children aged 15 years and under whose family holds a current community services card are entitled to a free eye examination and a contribution towards glasses if necessary if you have any queries contact 358 8781 the palmerston north basketball association would like to invite you to be part of the 2011 development academy the development academy will run over 7 friday nights in term 4 for under 13 s starting on the 28 october from 5.30 ­ 7.00pm in the b&m centre the sessions will concentrate on developing fundamental skills required for basketball as well as combination skills to advanced levels if you are interested please see am for a registration form.

a special congratulations to thomas little who has made the manawatu under 11 rep squad this is a great achievement and we wish him all the best in his start to his representative career ze bong the storyteller on thursday 10th november we are going to have `ze bong the storyteller performing for the school if your child has not paid their activity fees please send $4.00 to school in a labelled envelope by wednesday 9th november congratulations to keely puklowski jacob morris tylah maniapoto chase maniapoto alistair hardie regan nash reed stevenson jacob spillane jordan voyce and carnella rauku our flippaball team who finished 3rd in last terms competition we will be entering a team again this term ­ this will be open to these players first and then we will extend the invitation to those who missed out on selection last term.
