Dear Friends: 2017 was indeed a year of many opportunities. Some we were able to improve on and maximize, while others, I pray, we can continue to completion in the New Year. My wife and I are thankful to the Lord for the churches and ministries we were able to share in. It was our privilege to be in almost 30 churches preaching, as well as, presenting the ministry of The Voice in the Wilderness. I would like to thank all the pastors, missionaries, and lay people for being a blessing to us during our travels. Your prayers and financial support have made all of this possible. Please take a look at our website for additional updates, resources and podcast that are certain to be a blessing. “For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” I believe this is so important in every thing we do. Obviously, we do not know from day to day what may occur, but the Lord does. So for a preacher and ministry it is absolutely critical to trust in His Will and Direction. Personally, I have never wanted to schedule meetings and commitments months out, let alone more than a year. But it does seem 2018 is forcing us to place on the calendar plans far in advance. Lord willing, my wife and I will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary, as well as, a very significant (continued on page 7) 2•The Voice in the Wilderness - December 2017 Virtual Edition

My wife and I praise the Lord for the churches and ministries we have had opportunity to share in during 2017. By Dec. 31, it has been our privilege to preach, teach and share in the services of almost 30 churches this year. To fellowship and worship with some of the finest pastors, missionaries, and lay people in the world is a rich treasure. On many of these occasions, it was a joy to have our family travel with us and participate in the meetings. (Family news: Our newest member arrived 9-28-17, AmiJoy). Thank you all for such a memorable and fruitful 2017. Let’s carry the momentum and vision forward into the New Year. ONLINE, DIGITAL, AND PODCAST Please visit and peruse the website for the many benefits available. Each month we feature the Digital Edition of The Voice in the Wilderness, as well as emails and prayer letters. Daily the Biblical Alert Podcast is posted addressing current issues from a Biblical perspective. A variety of helps are available. 4•The Voice in the Wilderness - December 2017 Virtual Edition

PRINTING MINISTRY Thank you to the scores of individuals who made the Curipaco and Piapoco Scriptures available to our dear brothers and sisters in the jungle. This was an expensive, labour intensive, yet very rewarding project. Can you believe many of the Scriptures we printed were walked into remote jungle villages and delivered by hand to hungry saints? Praise the Lord for this blessed privilege. Now we are ready to print two additional Indian dialects for the jungle churches. This is a large project and The Voice in the Wilderness needs your help and prayers. Thank you for standing with us. THE VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS PRINTED EDITION I pray you received copies of The Voice in the Wilderness 32-page booklet-size magazine. Each printing and mailing cost about five to six thousand dollars. So we try to be good stewards and utilize online communications to make funds go further. Yet many do not access the Internet and there is nothing like the printed missionary. From tracts, brochures, books, and our small magazine, we are persuaded the Lord blesses HIS printed WORD. Pray for this aspect of The Voice in the Wilderness ministries. IS GOD’S WORK IN YOUR WILL? “One of the most important documents a man ever signs is his Will. I can tell better what a man had in his heart by reading his Will than I can by reading his obituary. His obituary tells the world what his friends thought of him; his Will reveals what he had in his heart.” - A. M. Vollmer For as (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he- Proverbs 23:7. Out of (the heart) are the issues of life - Proverbs 4:23. A bequest in your Will to The Voice in the Wilderness, Inc. can assure that the outreach of this ministry at home and abroad will continue after you have gone to your eternal reward. Prayerfully consider us in your Estate Planning. Thank you!

The Christian Law Association gives these observations concerning security in local churches today. For more details refer to The Legal Alert Dec. 2017, also you can contact www.CHRISTIANLAW.ORG. • Did you know that many states criminalize permit/holders carrying concealed weapons into a church unless the church leadership specifically allows such carrying? • Every state has vastly stricter laws regarding firearms if your church is also grounds for a Christian School or a Daycare. • In some states, you may not legally be allowed to actually have an armed security team if your church is grounds to a Christian School. • Every church must understand that, in today’s litigation-friendly culture, firearms also bring staggering levels of liability. • Without proper policies and sufficient insurance, a firearm-related incident could easily shut down your ministry. For additional information contact Christian Law Association. 6•The Voice in the Wilderness - December 2017 Virtual Edition

(My Personal Message - continued from page 2) birthday - to be kind to the ladies I will not throw out too many numbers. I have been preaching for over 46 years and serving with The Voice in the Wilderness for 21 years. So, I am going to observe in a variety of ways our thanksgiving for God’s provision and blessing. Already the calendar holds meetings scheduled from North Carolina, Arkansas, Missouri, and beyond, as well as, travel to Colombia and the Philippines. Of course all of this is subject to God’s will. Pray the Lord will provide health, strength, safety, and the resources to accomplish this schedule. Thank you again for your friendship and faithfulness. Together we labour and serve in His Kingdom work to only bring honour and glory to our Saviour. God bless you and have a fruitful New Year. For Christ and souls, Ronnie L.
