the 1st annual michelle halliwell memorial ladies th class was held on 27 february 2010 at the vrha derby state championship show sixteen lady riders vied for the title of champion and taking home the championship buckle with a score of 68 was sonya taylor riding her buckskin mare cl pretty vegas reserve champion went to youth rider katelyn barratt aboard crackin chex with a score of 67½ michelle s father kim mayberry was on hand to do the presentation of prizes to the winner and placegetters the event buckle was very kindly sponsored by cameron halliwell of tatura pine shavings proceeds from this event along with donations from the collection tin were donated to the cancer council of victoria in honour of michelle s memory the amount raised was $221.00 a big thank you to those that contributed sonya taylor cl pretty vegas l-r vrha president peter tjepkema judge timothy lovell martin larcombe mick taylor cameron halliwell lee yorwarth kim mayberry.
