2011 vrha hi point buckle series rules vrha hi point junior horse vrha senior horse junior horse must be 5yrs or younger as of 1 august 2010 can be ridden two handed in a snafflebit/hackamore or one handed in a bridle st 2 senior horse must be 6yrs and over as of 1 august 2010 to be ridden one handed in a bridle 3 junior horse and senior horse hi point series are based on the horse only and can be ridden by any rider throughout the series the rider of the horse is open to a vrha ra nrha member a non-member rider will incur a $20 day member fee per show for insurance purposes 4 to be eligible to receive the hi point award the rider must be a full financial vrha member throughout the series 5 horses may or may not be nrha licenced 6 entry fees into each class for each show will attract a $15 entry fee $10 judge s fee and will remain the same throughout the series 7 entry fees collected from the vrha junior horse and vrha senior horse class at each show will be retained and will jackpot the cost of the trophy buckle for the hi point winner will be subtracted from the year end jackpot the remaining balance of the jackpot from each class will be divided into prize money and paid to the winning hi point horse and runner up hi point st nd horse 1 60 2 40 8 hi point awards for junior horse and senior horse will be presented at the annual vrha awards presentation th 9 ribbons will be awarded to 6 place at shows during the series 10 classes will be offered at every vrha show excluding the vrha state championship show and will be run concurrently 1 st vrha hi point rookie level 1 vrha rookie level 2 series is open to vrha ra nrha members a non-member rider will incur a $20 day member fee per show for insurance purposes 2 to be eligible to receive the hi point award the rider must be a full financial vrha member throughout the series st 3 rookie level 1 ­ rider must not have won more than $200 lifetime earnings as of 1 january 2011 should rider s earnings st exceed $200 after 1 january 2011 eligibility still applies st rookie level 2 ­ rider must not have won more than $500 lifetime earnings as of 1 january 2011 should rider s earnings st exceed $500 after 1 january 2011 eligibility still applies 4 rookie level 1 and rookie level 2 series classes will be run concurrently a rookie level 1 rider must ride one handed in a bridle if entered in both concurrent rookie level 1 rookie level 2 classes 5 riders may ride more than one horse and may ride a borrowed horse horse may or may not be nrha licenced 6 where any rider rides more than one horse in this class on the same day the highest score will be recorded 7 entry fees into each class for each show will attract a $15 entry fee $10 judge s fee and will remain the same throughout the series 8 entry fees collected from the vrha rookie level 1 vrha rookie level 2 class at each show will be retained and will jackpot the cost of the trophy buckle for the hi point winner from each division will be subtracted from the year end jackpot of each th st division the remaining balance of the jackpot will be divided and awarded in prizes to 4 place prizes to the value of 1 40 nd rd th 2 30 3 20 4 10 9 hi point awards will be presented at the annual vrha hi point awards presentation th 10 ribbons will be awarded to 6 place at shows during the series 11 classes will be offered at every vrha show excluding the vrha state championship show 1 hi point calculation 1 2 3 st hi point winners will be determined by a point score basis of 1 place 10 points down to 10 place 1 point th any score registered below 10 place will attract 1 point in the event a final equal score results the winner will be determined by a count back th vrha hi point buckle series will run from 1st january 2011 ­ 31st december 2011

risk management conditions these conditions must be adhered to at all times 1 werribee park national equestrian centre committee of management considers it a privilege that you are allowed to bring your dog to this venue we insist you keep your dog under effective control at all times 2 approved safety helmets must be worn at all times when riding 3 cross country obstacles must not be jumped/used unless a non riding adult aged 18 years and over is present 4 riding of horse bareback is prohibited 5 riding of rugged and/or unbridled horses is prohibited 6 any person may lead a maximum of two horses while mounted 7 stallions must be at all times in the control of a person aged 17 years or more when led or ridden 8 horses are not permitted in/upon the quadrangle between the barn indoor 1 9 horses are not permitted near pedestrian doorways 10 bicycles are not permitted in the indoor arenas or any stable block approved helmets must be worn at all times 11 bicycles are not permitted near doors designated as public entrances or exits 12 motorcyclists must wear approved safety helmets and hold the appropriate licence 13 speed limits must be adhered to at all times the speed limit at wpnec is 10km p/h 14 power leads must not be on the ground 15 construction of portable/tape yards is prohibited 16 alcohol must not be consumed in the indoor arenas unless purchased from the licenced bar located in indoor arena no 1 17 please observe all signs at the venue 18 horses must be tied in a safe manner horses must not be tied to unattached horse floats wheelie bins etc 19 no infrastructure to be erected on wpnec grounds without written approval by management prior to event these conditions apply unless the manager or committee of management has given the discipline/event/activity concerned an exemption.

vrha entry level classes effective 1st january 2011 entry level classes are vrha green as grass vrha green rider vrha beginner all riders must be financial members of victorian reining horse association to compete in entry level classes riders do not have to own the horse nor does the horse have to be ra/nrha licenced a horse may only be shown once per class entry level classes will not attract any prize money and will not be included in the end of year hi point awards vrha green as grass open to any rider that has not won a 1 reining class at any show once you have won a class you are no longer eligible for green as grass horse to be ridden two handed in any nrha approved bit if the need arises the rider may touch the saddle with their hand without penalty vrha modified pattern will be ridden vrha green rider open to any rider that has not won three 3 or more reining classes at any show once you have won 3 classes you are no longer eligible for green rider horse to be ridden with either one or two hands in any nrha approved bit but must remain consistent throughout the whole pattern or a score of zero 0 will be given vrha modified pattern will be ridden vrha beginner open to any rider that has not won four 4 or more reining classes at any show once you have won 4 classes you are no longer eligible for beginner horse may be ridden with either one or two hands in any nrha approved bit but must remain consistent throughout the pattern or a score of zero 0 will be given nrha pattern will be ridden vrha training class the vrha training class is intended for the use of training and schooling a reining horse in a show environment this class will be judged but will not attract any prize money and will not be included in the end of year hi point awards the vrha training class is open to any rider and any horse rider must be a financial member of vrha ra or nrha riders do not have to own the horse nor does the horse have to be ra/nrha licenced a horse may only be `shown once per class riders may ride either one or two handed and swap at will without penalty in any nrha approved bit use of illegal prohibited or training equipment will result in a disqualification rider and horse must complete pattern as written maximum time limit of 5 minutes to complete pattern vrha end of year hi point rules conditions all riders and horse owners must be financial members of the victorian reining horse association at the time of showing to be eligible for end of year hi point awards and must have competed at a minimum of two 2 vrha shows during the show season points will be allocated at all vrha shows including the annual vrha state championship show entry level classes are excluded from hi point awards the vrha hi point buckle series is a separate awards category and points in the series do not count towards end of year hi point awards hi point winners will be determined by a score basis of 1st 10 points down to 6th 5 points tied placing s will receive equal place points points will be awarded to the horse in all open classes hi point rider will be determined by a total of all points earned throughout the season as will the hi point horse end of year hi point awards will only be awarded to those classes that were offered at a minimum of two 2 vrha shows during the season in the event that a final equal score results the winner will be determined by a count back the hi point season will run from 1st january ­ 31st december.
