Students are encouraged to look at the work of other artists and experiment with a range of materials. n CREATIVE WRITING Feb 27 – Mar 27 • 5 sessions Tuesdays 10.30am -12.30pm Tutor: Clare Whistler • Cost: Free From a teapot to a forest, a pebble to an envelope, this course will use different stimuli to spark memories and the imagination to inspire you to write in many different ways. Develop your writing in a no pressure environment with a sense of support and shared laughter. Open to all, no experience needed. Please bring a notebook and pen. n PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT Jan 26 – Mar 23 • 8 sessions Fridays 1pm – 3pm Tutor: Denise Felkin • Cost: A: £75 B: £30 C: £15 Master the art of developing a photography project. The course will guide and support you through personal project ideas and offer constructive advice. You will need to provide a digital camera and an idea to develop visually. n EXPERIMENTS IN PRINTING Jan 23 - Mar 13 • 7 sessions Tuesdays 12.30pm – 2.30pm Tutor: Belinda Channer • Cost: Free Drawing, painting & basic print-making techniques will be taught and explored with an emphasis on developing an individual collection of samples, ideas and finished artwork. These can be used for further studies and/or enrichment of existing arts practice. n FLOWER ARRANGING WORKSHOP March 22 • 1 session Thursday 10am – 1pm • Tutor: Nina Tucknott Cost: A: £25 C: £8 + £10 materials to all Come along and make a spring like design with an experienced floral designer. We will be making a pretty table centre featuring an array of cheerful flowers and foliage – the perfect inspiration for Easter time. All flowers and other materials will be provided for a £10 cost, payable to the tutor on the day. n GUITAR LESSONS Jan 12 – Mar 23 • Fridays 9.30am – 2pm Tutor: Robin Jones • Cost: A: £12 for 30 min lesson Have a first go at strumming the guitar, learn to play your favourite tune or perfect your singing and song writing skills. All levels and abilities welcome. n PIANO LESSONS Jan 12 – Mar 23 • Fridays 1.30pm – 6pm Tutor: Lubov Simon Cost: £7.50 for 20 min, £10.50 for 30 min lesson Lubov is a classically trained pianist. All ages and abilities are welcome. 100% pass rate in the piano exam. n POTTERY & CERAMICS FOR ALL DAYTIME: Jan 15 - Mar 19 • 9 sessions Mondays 12.30pm – 2.30pm EVENINGS: Jan 18 – Mar 22 • 9 sessions Thursdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm • Tutor: Sabine Dahn Cost: A: £80 B: £40 C: £20 + £5 materials to all Beginners will gain confidence in basic ceramic techniques: pinching, coiling and slabbing. Scope for experienced pottery enthusiasts to develop their own ideas. At the end of the course you will be able to have basic conversations in BSL and you will also develop skills in deaf awareness. How to join and how to find us HOW TO JOIN Pick up the phone 01273 687053 and talk to us. Or call into The Bridge during the day Monday to Friday. We’ll show you how easy it is. ENROLMENT In most cases you will need to come in for an appointment with one of our advisers to complete the necessary forms and bring in evidence, if you are applying for a concession. If you are working and cannot get in we will be able to do this over the phone. PAYING FOR YOUR COURSES Once you have paid for a course you will have secured your place.We accept payment by cash or card in person or by phone. We cannot give refunds unless a course is cancelled by us. If you can’t afford course fees, please talk to one of our advisers about further support we might be able to provide. COURSES - ABC Some courses have 3 price codes - A, B, C. A The cost of the course before any discount. B Those who live locally may pay less - this goes on postcode areas, please ask for details. C For those on a means tested benefit. You will need to bring in evidence (no more than three months old) and some form of ID. If you are aged 65 or over you need to bring in evidence with your date of birth on. Please ask staff for more information. LOCATION We are located just off the Lewes Road (North Moulsecoomb/Falmer), near the Keep and next to a school called BACA. Easily accessible by bus and train. Buses 25 and 28 pass nearby, and the 49 bus stops about ten minutes’ walk away. Four miles from Hove and six miles from Lewes. We also have free parking, for over six hundred cars.
