maintenance and cleaning cleaning the filters sanyo plc-xu300 filter prevents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector should the filters become clogged with dust particles it will reduce cooling fans effectiveness and may result in internal heat buildup and adversely affect the life of the projector if a filter warning icon appears on the screen clean the filters immediately clean the filters by following the steps below 1 2 3 4 turn off the projector and unplug the ac power cord from the ac outlet turn the projector over and remove the filters clean the filters softly by using a brush replace the filters properly make sure that the filters are fully inserted to the projector caution do not operate the projector with the filters removed dust may accumulate on the optical elements degrading picture quality do not put anything into the air vents doing so may result in malfunction of the projector filters recommendation we recommend avoiding dusty/smoky environments when you operate the projector usage in these environments may cause poor image quality when using the projector under dusty or smoky conditions dust may accumulate on a lens lcd panels or optical elements inside the projector degrading the quality of a projected image when the symptoms above are noticed contact your authorized dealer or service station for proper cleaning note when reinserting this filters be sure that the slit part is facing the outer side filter counter resetting the filter counter be sure to reset the filter counter after cleaning or replacing the filters 1 2 press the menu button to display the on-screen menu use the point buttons to select the setting menu and then press the point or select buttons use the point buttons select filter counter and then press the point or the select button use the point buttons to select filter counter reset and then press select button the filter counter reset appears select yes to continue another confirmation dialog box appears select yes to reset the filter counter 3 the filter counter reset appears select yes then another confirmation box appears select yes again to reset the filter counter 60

sanyo plc-xu73-74-75 cleaning the air filters maintenance and cleaning air filters prevent dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector should the air filters become clogged with dust particles it will reduce cooling fans effectiveness and may result in internal heat build up and adversely affect the life of the projector clean the air filters following the steps below 1 2 3 4 turn off the projector and disconnect the ac power cord from the ac outlet turn over the projector and remove the air filters by pulling the latches upward clean the air filters with a brush or rinse them softly when cleaning the air filters by rinsing dry them well replace the air filters properly make sure that the air filters are fully inserted caution do not operate the projector with the air filters removed dust may accumulate on the optical elements degrading picture quality do not put small parts into the air intake vents it may result in malfunction of the projector air filters pull up and remove recommendation we recommend avoiding dusty/smoky environments when operating the projector usage in these environments may cause a poor image quality when using the projector under dusty or smoky conditions dust may accumulate on a lens lcd panels or optical elements inside the projector this condition may degrade the quality of a projected image when the symptoms above are noticed contact your authorized dealer or service station for proper cleaning note when reinserting this air filter be sure that the slit part is facing the outer side attaching the lens cover when moving this projector or while not using it over an extended period of time replace the lens cover attach the lens cover according to the following procedures lens cover 1 2 3 pass the string through a hole of the lens cover turn over the projector and remove the screw with a screwdriver attach the string with lens cover to a hole at the bottom of the projector and secure it with a screw string for the lens cover secure it to the hole with a screw hole 53
