2782 i ve finally solved it dr morrison cried terra looked up form her study of the miniature black hole to see what had so excited her mentor henry morrison was standing up dancing around and waving a long piece of string in the air what is it doctor terra asked dr morrison seemed too excited to speak coherently but he eventually calmed down enough to tell his pupil about his discovery we ve been using the miniature black holes that scientists discovered a few decades ago as simple garbage disposals correct he didn t give any time for her to ask why he was recounting such obvious knowledge before he continued well now i have finally found proof of white holes terra stared for a second trying to figure out if he had lost his mind it had been proven centuries ago that white holes didn t exist they were supposed to be the opposite ends of black holes but none had been found and it was deemed impossible for a black hole to connect to anything it was a hole in space that would suck everything in and nothing ever escapes from either end dr morrison continued dancing around as he said think of the possibilities if we can learn to control them we can use them to send messages materials and maybe even people across the continent the planet or even across the universe in a matter of seconds terra stood and grabbed his shoulders to make him look her in the face how did you discover this what proof do you have holding him still had finally calmed him down so he went to sit in a chair before he replied.

a white hole as we ve named them is the other end of a black hole what goes in a black hole would come out the white one only we had never found traces of any white holes no places where random matter just showed up nothing visible i believe the problem was that the connection is so long that it ends up in the farthest reaches of the universe where even we haven t been able to explore asteroids fly around space in abundance but we never see where most of them originate it is my belief that they are sucked into black holes and are thrown out the white ones and eventually make it back into the main body of the universe terra knew what white holes were and this theory seemed to make sense except for one fact if white holes are located on the outer reaches of the universe how does that help us we would end up stranded in some unknown quadrant of space and end up suffocating the doctor looked at her and smiled that is correct but what if we could compress the invisible tunnel between the two and bring the white hole closer if it was brought close enough something could go in a black hole in america and come out in china or maybe even closer terra nodded this seemed reasonable so what proof do you have you were overly excited for this being just a theory at that the doctor stood up again and walked over to his desk still carrying his string you know how i have been experimenting to get smaller black holes i finally created one so small that it cannot support a long tunnel therefore it must have a short one actually it is so small that the other end is still located in the same room i figure that the larger the black hole the wider the tube and the stronger it is so it would be vice versa for a smaller hole if the tunnel can only be as wide as the hole the smaller a hole the narrower the tube the longer a substance is stretched the weaker it becomes and since it is already so narrow it cannot stand being any great length alright get on with it already terra interrupted sorry anyway this black hole that i ve created can barely be seen it is only a few

millimeters in diameter therefore the tunnel to the white hole is quite a short one it seems though that white holes are invisible i was only able to locate it because one end of the string i had been holding accidentally got sucked into the black hole while i kept my hold on the other end when i glanced up i saw the other end of the string hanging in the air on the other side of the room terra was speechless he really had found a white hole the possibilities were endless now all we need to do is figure out how to control the size and direction of the tunnel and we ll be able to send anything anywhere in the universe she said ah dr morrison held up a hand to stall her he looked even more pleased with himself than before i was doing some calculations and i believe i have the equation all figured out he handed her a few pages of notes and equations if i make a hole that is exactly 4.86 millimeters in diameter it should land in the room next door if it is facing exactly 48 degrees west of north as he said this he began fiddling with his black hole instruments after a couple minutes he finally got a minuscule black hole created with the perfect diameter and facing the correct direction dr morrison turned back to his apprentice who was still looking over his notes and calculations now let s see if it works he said he grabbed a book off the table and held it to the hole the gravitational pull wrapped around the book and distorted it to fit through the hole dr morrison let go and watched the last few particles of the book disappear a second later they heard a scream from the other side of the wall it works he cried meanwhile terra who had spared only a glace at the demonstration was doing some mental calculations in her head the answer that she came up with made her frown um doctor she began but he interrupted her.

i must be the first human to try this as it was my discovery we cannot chance someone else thinking of this before i have proven it myself terra s frown deepened um sir i don t think he interrupted her yet again it didn t look like he had even realized that she was speaking watch terra as i make history he stepped forward and reached towards the black hole wait terra screamed she ran forward to try and stop him but it was too late dr morrison had disappeared she waited hoping to hear something from next door there was nothing but silence she went back and double-checked her calculations it was as she thought dr morrison had done the math wrong if what she concluded was true her mentor might not be on the same planet any longer.
