Welcome Welcome to Barnabas Oley Church of England School. I am pleased to be able to present this school prospectus for the new school year. I hope the information helps you to understand what happens in school and gives you a flavour of our ethos. Our school is small enough to have a family atmosphere and each individual is valued and accepted. We aim to provide a happy, safe and secure environment to support children’s development as successful independent learners. The education of children is a partnership between the child, the parents, the school and the community. We value our close links with the local church and have developed an ethos based on Christian values. The school works with other organisations in the local community and with partnerships of schools in St Neot’s and South Cambridgeshire, with St Bede’s Interfaith School in Cambridge, Comberton Village College and with Ely Diocese. Happy children learn well and we depend upon the co-operation of children, teachers, teaching assistants and parents, all working together to celebrate success and work together through any difficulties. We have high expectations of all children in educational performance, behaviour and participation and often achieve excellent results. We believe that the high ideals that inspired the Reverend Barnabas Oley to found a school in Great Gransden over 300 years ago are still alive and well today. Further information can be found on the school website at the link below or come and visit us and see us at work! Mrs R Smith BEd. NPQH Headteacher www.barnabasoley.cambs.sch.uk
