Welcome to the Ratsbrauhaus Hann. Münden B rewing is our passion. We have dedicated ourselves with all our hearts to beer brewing since 2003. This is the reason we have revived the art of beer brewing in Hann. Münden. Anyone who likes beer knows that a cold glass of our Dr. Eisenbart beer is not enough. A hearty meal is a natural accompaniment and completes the enjoyment. Even if you don’t really fancy a Dr. Eisenbart beer we are sure you will find a dish you love on our menu or at our ‘Market buffet‘. Enchant all your senses during your stay at the Ratsbrauhaus Hann. How we make our beer Malt mill: Malt, a product of grain is milled, 1 i.e. ground down, in order to allow its compounds to be more easily dissolved. Mash pan:The malt is mixed with water and heated. Mashing allows proteins to be fragmented. 2 Starch turns into malt sugar, which turns into ethanol during fermentation. Wirlpool: After boiling comes the relaxation in the whirl pool bath ;) Proteins that have not dissolved and hop particles are removed by centrifugal forces. 4 5 Brew cooler: Now the brew only con- tains those ingredients we need for a good beer. The brew is cooled with brew water and saturated with oxygen. Beer filter: Now we are almost done. Before the fresh beer can be bottled, it is filtered one more time to remove every last bit of protein and hop sediment. 8 3 Flavor pan: After mashing the brew is boiled and hops are added. This process aids the taste of the beer. 6 Fermentation tank: Once the brew has reached the right temperature it is piped into the fermentation tanks. But before that we add yeast to help the malt sugar turn into alcohol. 7 The finished beer: Dr. Eisenbart’s beer, light, dark or black – 96 start enjoying it now. Bottoms up!

Homebrewed drinks are part of our town. Since 1550 beer has been brewed inside the town walls of Hann. Münden. The three brew houses brewed so much beer back then that no ale house was allowed to serve beer not made in town. Anyone who gained a “Braulos”, a brewing ticket from the city council, was allowed to brew beer and had to be responsible for stocking adequate amounts of malt. In the middle ages beer was more than just a drink, it was a staple food. Today there is a brewery in Hann. Münden again.
