october 2011 volume 2 issue 1 spectacular september series champion okadoka editor inside this issue a message from our place administration outlandish october series flag challenge update fun n games day 2 3 4 4 5 6 special awards rioter of the month special points of interest · message from administration · little orphan annie award · rioter of the month eddiesbaby1964 · state flag challenge · outlandish october series the september series kicked off with our labor day celebration tour all registrants were asked to be ready to work the farm or give birth at this tour yikes we ask a lot of our members we partied with friends as we used this as our last chance to wear white and have that final family barbeque of the season everyone s minis looked adorable in their farm clothing or maternity wear irenemm1 was the hardest worker and ended the day with dirty hands and a tournament win grandparents day is a family day where we honor grandparents with special events the grandparents day tour honored the many grandparents that are members of the our place league members who are grandparents were asked to arrive at the tour dressed in their sundays finest to receive a point those who are not grandparents were asked send a gift of flowers from the pogo mini mall to another member of the league who is a grandparent to receive a point the winner of this tour was msmellylou congrats melly international talk like a pirate day allowed us to unleash our inner buccaneers as we honored this fun tradition started in 1995 by two fellows playing racquetball all the landlubbers who sign up for this tour quickly scoured their closets for eye patches pirate hats and sashes so they could arrive appropriately dressed to receive a point the winner of and head buccaneer was tisherself arr arr matey autumn marks the transition from summer to winter weather we made note of the changing seasons with the first day of autumn tour all of the contestants that evening were asked to arrive dressed for fall or with a fall background setting for their mini congratulations to irenemm1 the winner of this tour the final tour for the month we celebrated not only national pet week but also league member purplegirples birthday members were asked to have their mini bring their favorite pet with the to the tour in addition if they wore a party hat that they again would receive an additional point it was a small intimate party but we laughed and enjoyed each other s company congrats to msmellylou for barking up the correct tree and winning this one we hope you had a great birthday purp we are pleased to announce irenemm1 as the big winner with the most points earned in the september series congratulations to irenemm1 the spectacular september series winner and winner of a mix n match badge of her choice october means ghosts ghouls goblins and sweets come join in the special events of this magical month with the outlandish october series details can be found on page 3.

volume 2 issue 1 i came i clued i conquered chat banter october is to our league what christmas morning is to children we look forward to it all year long and we get most excited for our annual masquerade ball we wait with anticipation like a child awaiting santa claus to see just who that special someone is who will show up this year we start preparing our minis early in the month and getting our personas down just right we want to fool someone well that s not quite right we want to fool everyone just who was that witch who came dressed like zombie who invite ann landers maxine and betty white and who will they invite this year yes we have fun competing and laughing during the tour munching our candy corn and popcorn balls but it is the voting results after the tour ends that keeps the excitement brewing waiting for the misty fog on the witches cauldron to settle we then see in the remaining dregs of brew just whom was who and how right or wrong we were this year we planned some enchantment to give you magical moments all month instead of scrooges christmas s past present and future we offer you four different challenges challenge #1 offers the winner a cases premium membership the goal of this challenge is to complete the most tournaments this month with a minimum of 25 tours completed to be eligible don t have enough time to play 25 tours no problem we have challenge #2 that might suit you better this challenge dares you to complete the most tournaments in a calendar week sun-sat prizes for winning this challenge are pogo gem packages with a ten tour minimum to be eligible ten tours i have housework to do no need to worry we have challenge #3 this challenge is a bit of a mystery but the prize is very awesome beginning today october 5th information will be posted on eddies/irene boo whoos tournament pages we also have challenge #4 for those who can only play weekends the bozo buckets challenge see page 4 for details we will end the month with the seventh annual masquerade ball on saturday october 29th this year the tour will be a double elimination giving you second chance to win so start digging through that costume box and practice your persona there will be many prizes offered at this tour and of course we will have our voting ballots after for best costume best persona etc prizes will be awarded to them along with the player who made the most correct guesses and to the player fooled the most people see tournament page for sign up instructions and list of prizes after a meeting of ourplace sr administration it has been decided to make an adjustment to our league rule of clues counting only from members merely being a member will no longer suffice in fairness to our members staff and non-staff alike cgs clues will only be valid coming from active members of ourplace active is defined as registering/completing at least one word riot tourney per week at ourplace thank you for your understanding our place administration tis irene oka page 2
