Dear Friends: The churches in Venezuela report continued growth, souls saved and the Lord’s blessing inspite of the horrific political situation. President Maduro is pushing for a national charter to supersede other institutions. More than 75 have died in the demonstrations. Food shortages and economic crisis is driving the more than 90 days of protest. Maduro said that he will never give up and what he could not do with votes he would do with weapons. The socialist dictator is determined to stay in power. He is blaming Trump for the violence just as the U.S. liberal media attacks any efforts to do the business of the people. These problems in Venezuela date back to 1999 and Hugo Chavez, just as this liberal dictatorship in the U.S. dates back to the cancer of corruption in D.C. Believe me, there are so many parallels in where Venezuela is today and where the U.S. is going! Brazil is facing thousands trying to escape across the border fleeing the disaster in Venezuela. There is always a ripple effect. Please pray for the Pastors, churches and missionaries serving in Venezuela. We will continue our support of these precious brethren. Anything you can do to help will be deeply appreciated. We will give these gifts when we go down to close out the jungle Scripture project. Thank you for caring and sharing. For Christ and souls, Ronnie L. Williamson Isa. 40:31 Happy Trails! 2•The Voice in the Wilderness - June 2017 Virtual Edition

Tentmakers Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth, and found a certain Jew named Aquila… Acts 18:1-3 records the Apostle meeting a very dedicated Husband and wife gospel team named Aquila and Priscilla. A very special bond is established between this married couple and the Apostle Paul. Jewish boys were trained and taught in a trade that could serve them for a lifetime. Paul, as young Saul, had learned tentmaking. Aquila, too, was skilled in the art of tentmaker. Certainly this occupation opened the door for Paul in his initial acquaintance with Aquila and Priscilla. The Scriptures comment on this by stating “…because he was of the same craft, he [Paul] abode with them…,” that is Aquila and Priscilla. Acts 18, along with Romans 16:3-5; I Corinthians 16:19, and II Timothy 4:19, complete the information surrounding Aquila and Priscilla. That said, the focus here is that the Apostle Paul, as well as Aquila and Priscilla, were skilled tentmakers. Keep that bit of biographical background in mind and note Mark 6:3 concerning Jesus: “Is not this the carpenter…?” – referring to Jesus himself. Sister Terry and Brother Ronnie have been tentmakers for decades, enabling more funds to go toward missions. From cleaning to Christian school teacher and even funeral home work, this has been by faith. The Lord has provided in some amazing ways. 4•The Voice in the Wilderness - June 2017 Virtual Edition

Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis Venezuela in Crisis This is excerpts from dear friends in Venezuela describing just a bit of the situation in Venezuela. Please pray for our brothers and sisters daily facing the dangers of a civil war. The churches are in need of our prayers and help. ...you may have heard from the news reports, the political and economic situation here in Venezuela, where we still are, at the moment, is now worse than it has been in fifty years. As I write this letter, some one hundred people are rioting outside our house, on the main highway, three blocks away, hurling stones, spreading tear gas, burning old tires, and blocking all traffic, long into the night. Tomorrow they will likely repeat the cycle, after about six hours of rest. The sad part is that the same routine can be observed in every major city throughout the country, and has continued for about three months now. Although the bulk of the people involved in these daily riots represent the political party opposed to President Maduro, about thirty percent of them are simply neighborhood thugs, indifferent to politics, merely looking for opportunities to wreak havoc, damage public property assault passers by, and rob them of money and personal belongings.... As the local currency continues to suffer devaluation, the average citizen is making the equivalent of only two dollars per day, and yet the prices continue to soar. Only the upper middle class and above can afford to go out to eat, for example, and as staple foods are scarce, many people are eating only two meals a day. In fact, it is safe to say that the average member of our church here has lost about fifteen pounds during the past one year of this crisis. It comes as no surprise, then, that crime is on the increase. Public buses are now routinely hijacked during peak hours, and the passengers, robbed at gunpoint. In two cases all of the passengers were stripped of their shoes and clothing and left half naked aboard the bus. Logically, we have stopped using public transportation altogether, and have chosen to pay for private taxis to take us everywhere we need to go. As the price of gasoline is down to only one penny per gallon, taxi rides themselves are relatively cheap, such as seventy-five cents to get downtown. In recent weeks, however, we have found ourselves stranded sometimes, even when traveling by taxi, as the drivers sometimes encounter so many roadblocks from the protesters, that they have no choice but to drop us at the roadblock and make us walk the rest of the way home. Two nights ago, this happened at about eight o’clock, so, after we got out of the taxi to begin the half-mile walk home, we found ourselves in the dark, with protest fires burning in the middle of the street, stones being hurled across the median, and tear gas being spread into the air somehow. We also saw no fewer than one hundred thugs scattered along the road, seemingly looking for someone to assault or rob. We barely made it home unscathed, but not without several close calls along the way. Our own once-familiar neighborhood is now looking more and more like a scene from an Apocalptic Hollywood movie. As if this were not bad enough, twenty blocks up the hill from our house is an interstate expressway, where every day of the week, cargo trucks carrying any type of food items, are spotted from far off, detained by local residents, hijacked, and pillaged of all their cargo. Lately it has been happening throughout the day, every day. Eyewitnesses confirm that even policemen and members of the National Guard are sometimes involved in the pillaging. While they often show up at the scene of the crime, it is said that they never offer any help to the victim, but often end up taking some of the booty for themselves.... Please pray specifically for safety and wisdom as they and many of our other brothers and sisters in Venezuela seek the Lord for immediate needs and future ministry direction. Venezuela in Crisis

The Voice in the Wilderness Ministry reprinted Sophie Muller’s (Missionary to the Jungles) Bible translation work in Curipaco, Piapoco, Puinave, and Guahibo languages. In 1999 Brother Williamson was privileged to stand where Sophie served for 50 years and witness 1500 precious souls come walking through the jungle and canoeing down the Orinoco to receive the Word of God in their indigenous language. Indeed it was a blessing! Bearing Precious Seed in Milford, OH, agreed to print the indigenous language Jn/Rms Bibles for the jungle work. We are working together with BPS, Missionary Gage and Read the background of Sophie’s Jungle others to determine the best shipment and distribution method for the John ministry in her books. and Romans. Currently, the Scriptures are enroute to Florida. From there, we pray the Lord’s safe keeping as the boxes are flown to port in Colombia. PRAISE THE LORD for the offerings thus far which have paid for the printing expense; however, $4,000 is still needed for shipping expense and $2500 for Jungle Pastors’ Conference and Distribution. 6•The Voice in the Wilderness - June 2017 Virtual Edition
