RATHKEALE COLLEGE UNIFORM SHOP Phone 06 377 9022 Email: tuckshop@rathkeale.school.nz Manager: Diane McBride (Home Ph. 06 3773744) INTRODUCTION The Rathkeale College Uniform shop is managed by Mrs Di McBride. Her contact details and email as above. The Shop has a full range of uniform new or second hand. The Shop is located in the College grounds at the rear of the gymnasium. The shop provides all stationery requirements for students at the commencement of the year with ongoing supplies throughout the year. The shop also operates as the Tuckshop where students can purchase snacks etc. during interval and lunchtimes. Masterton to/from Rathkeale bus tickets are available from the Shop. OPENING HOURS During the school term the shop is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 1.30 pm. Please contact the Uniform shop ASAP and before the end of Term 3 to make an appointment for a uniform outfitting as NEW BOYS ARE SEEN ON AN APPOINTMENT ONLY BASIS. Please do not delay in making an appointment to ensure a suitable time. There is some flexibility with appointments beyond the normal opening times SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER HOLIDAY OPENING HOURS:  Monday 9th October 9.00am – 3.00pm  Tuesday 10th October 9.00am – 3.00pm  Wednesday 11th October 9.00am – 3.00pm Please note: Prepaid orders for blazers and tracksuits required for January 2018 must be received by 31st October 2017. Other uniform pieces are mostly stock items and can be purchased at the time of ordering the blazer or at later opening times. GENERAL INFORMTION IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE; PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. 1) Blazers, Tracksuits and the Senior Winter Shirt (Y 12 & 13). Only sample sizes of these garments are stocked. These garments need to be ordered and paid for by the following dates. Uniform Required by Closing dates for orders Term 1 2018 31st October 2017 Term II 2018 to be confirmed Term III 2018 To be confirmed NB: The athletic and swimming sports are held in Term 1 and a tracksuit will be required for these events. 2) Summer uniform is worn during Terms 1 and 4. Winter uniform is worn during Terms 2 and 3. 3) Apart from when formal uniform is required all Y 9 & 10 students wear shorts in the winter terms. Year 11, 12 and 13 boys can wear trousers during the winter terms. 4) The Uniform Shop is not open in holiday breaks during the school year, so the next term’s uniform requirements must be met by the end of the previous term. For example, all winter uniform needs to be purchased before the end of Term 1. 5) All uniform and gear must be clearly labelled using name tapes and / or indelible ink. BOARDING PARENTS PLEASE NOTE. IRON ON LABELS CANNOT BE USED ON CLOTHING AS THEY COME OFF IN THE SCHOOL LAUNDRY. LABELS MUST BE STITCHED ON. SHOES MUST BE NAMED. FOR BOARDING STUDENTS PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING NAMING PROCEDURE: Blazers, jerseys, shirts – inside centre back of collar Trousers, shorts, underwear – middle centre of waistband Grey socks, sports socks – top outside edge for turning under when worn White socks – name on inside Trouser shortening. There is a service available through the shop. A $15 charge will apply. 6) Payment can be by cash / cheque or eftpos which includes the use of credit cards. During the term uniform purchases may be put on disbursements. This is the parent’s choice and therefore their responsibility to monitor spending. Accounts are not itemised. However, if you have any query re the account, disbursement forms are kept at the Uniform Shop so please contact shop staff directly rather than the Accounts office. Uniform shop staff would appreciate a phone call or email re uniform needs if a parent cannot be present. 7) The Uniform Shop also functions as the Stationery Shop. All Year 9 students are issued with a bulk lot of stationery on the first school day. Other Year groups are issued with a stationery requirement list on the first day of school and purchase according to need. Lists are recorded on the school website. The shop also stocks basic toiletries, batteries, mouth guards for the boarders. 8) Bus tickets. Term bus passes and ten trip tickets for the Masterton / Rathkeale trip are purchased at the Uniform Shop. All students travelling on the bus need a ticket for this leg – this includes South Wairarapa students who purchase their South Wairarapa to Masterton ticket direct from Tranzit. All orders for Term bus passes for Term I must be received by Friday 19th January 2018. These will be available for collection in the week prior to school starting. Tickets can either be paid for in cash or put on disbursements. 9) Train tickets. Students using the train regularly are expected to purchase their own concession ticket from the railway station. Tickets to Upper Hutt & Wellington are available in emergency only.

 Prices are subject to change.  The second hand uniform prices are approximates intended as a guide.  Raincoat: On wet / cold days, with school uniform, both on and off campus, a plain black parka, a black puffer jacket, the black Rathkeale track top or the green Rathkeale track top may be worn.  However, with any of these tops the jersey and blazer MUST be worn.  The students are not permitted to wear either jacket or track top or scarves in the classrooms. SPORTS UNIFORM PARTICIPATION IN SUMMER AND WINTER SPORT IS COMPULSORY. PE Compulsory for all y9 and y10 students, y11, 12, 13 students optional. House Rugby Jersey These are an optional item and worn for inter-house winter sport competitions and also at the Swimming and Athletic Sports. All rugby players must have a house rugby jersey.
