Our designs meet the unique needs of each individual project and are shaped by our intense interaction with all stakeholders. We understand the value and benefit of the collaborative approach within the multilayered design of these property types. Along with collaboration, IMEG’s technical expertise, innovation, and creative design solutions allow our firm to offer hospitality/mixed-use clients a breadth of sustainable, energy-efficient systems. From mechanical, electrical, and structural to security, technology, and lighting, our designs provide comfort for guests and residents, as well as long-term value for owners. SERVICES IMEG has built a global reputation for engineering services of high-performance buildings that maximize efficiency and flexibility with forward-thinking design solutions. Our broad array of specialized skills and areas of expertise provide the knowledge our clients require for their unique facility demands. Our range of services includes everything from infrastructure surveys, master plans, and energy audits to planning, design, Building Information Modeling (BIM), energy modeling, sustainability, LEED certification, on-site construction representation, and systems commissioning. BIM & VIRTUAL REALITY IMEG is 100 percent Revit-based for all engineering disciplines. We provide dynamic, exceptionally intelligent BIM due to the company’s robust additions to the standard content provided by Revit software. We have also adapted virtual reality technology to turn the firm’s already robust 3D models into virtual building walk-throughs. Better than a rendering or walkthrough within Revit, virtual reality walk-throughs provide our clients the ability to be fully immersed in their project’s environment. This advanced level of model development is uncommon in the design industry. SUSTAINABLE DESIGN Experts in the field of sustainability, IMEG holds itself responsible for sustainable design solutions that provide healthy buildings that are aesthetically pleasing, use less energy, deplete fewer natural resources, generate less waste, provide flexible environments for their occupants, and are within the client’s budget. IMEG has embraced the U.S. Building Council’s LEED Green Building Rating System as a useful framework for measuring sustainability. We have more than 100 LEED Accredited Professionals and many experienced energy modelers. Sustainability has always been an important aspect of our design philosophy, and we are pleased to have engineered many “firsts” in high-performance design. 2 ALL-INCLUSIVE • Structural • Mechanical • Electrical • Plumbing • Fire Protection • Technology • Civil • Acoustics • Architectural Lighting • Bridge Engineering • Commissioning • Construction Support Services • Energy Modeling • Medical Equipment Planning • Process Engineering • Utility Infrastructure LEED FACTS • 100+ LEED AP’s • 200 LEED projects • 150 pending certification • 17 LEED Platinum projects • 75 LEED Gold projects

HOTELS 225,000-sf Hotel Historic Renovation The historic renovation and restoration of the Chicago Athletic Association building resulted in a new boutique hotel on Michigan Avenue in Chicao, IL. After remaining vacant for several years, the project converted the 122-year-old property into 241 guestrooms, restaurants, banquet and meeting areas, with a new rooftop bar as well as other guest amenities. After a facility assessment proved the existing systems to be beyond their useful lifetime for the new use, the project team engaged in an accelerated construction phase to maintain the owner’s aggressive schedule. IMEG’s design solved many of the project’s challenges including: • Historic constraints for placement of systems. Creative solutions were developed to incorporate modern technology and systems into the building. • Five kitchens and ancillary food and beverage spaces for ballrooms, event spaces and other 3rd party operators. The team successfully routed utilities through floors with limited clearances while maintaining the proper guest experience and historical atmosphere within the space. • Providing a high level of comfort for guests and energy efficiency for the owner. Central chilled and hot water systems were chosen to feed the entire building. • Electrical loads. Detailed coordination with Commonwealth Edison allowed the owner to save significant project cost and usable space by not building a new utility vault within the building. • Noise and vibration isolation of guest rooms from the ball courts, bowling alley, bars and mechanical sources, and achieving good architectural acoustics within the two ballrooms using historically correct finishes. This was accomplished with IMEG’s AWARDS experience in historically-correct • ENR Midwest 2016 Best Project acoustic renovations and an extensive • Comprehensive Redevelopment of use of acoustic computer modeling and the Year, Chicago Commercial Real simulation .
