Creative Movement Program For MBT’s youngest students, the Creative Movement Program provides an engaging weekly class to start learning fundamentals of ballet technique and vocabulary. Focusing on gross motor skills, this class is taught using imagery, fun games, and music. New this year - Our Creative Movement and Early Ballet students will have the option to participate in a semester-end Presentation in our Black Box Theater! Academic Ballet Program – levels 1 through 9+ For the serious young dancer, Academic Ballet offers training in ballet technique starting at age 7, and continuing through high school, with a pre-professional dance curriculum for those students who may be interested in pursuing a career in dance. Emphasis is placed on learning classical ballet technique while building strength and flexibility, confidence, musicality, and artistry. As students progress through the program, more frequent training is required in order to accomplish the curriculum. All Academic Ballet programs require faculty placement. Academic Ballet – Contemporary Division Levels 5 – 9 Students will focus their training in either the Classical Division or Contemporary Division starting at Academic Ballet Level 5. For ballet students interested in exploring Contemporary dance styles, technique classes in this division are coupled with a progression of classes in modern, jazz, and contemporary. These students will have the opportunity to perform in the new Contemporary Showcase. Contemporary Division students who are interested in pointe work in addition to their regular required schedule, may consult artistic staff. Youth Ballet Program • 1 class/week Class Beginning Ballet Level 2Y The Youth Ballet Program is perfect for young dancers requiring flexibility in their schedule to take only one class per week. Dancers will learn the same curriculum as MBT’s Academic Ballet Program, but will progress at a slower pace to ensure safety and to gain full knowledge of proper execution of movement. Students in the Youth Ballet Program can audition into the Academic Ballet Program, pending class availability, and will be placed accordingly. Adaptive Dance Program MBT’s Adaptive Ballet Program encourages integration into mainstream classes for ambulatory dancers with special needs ranging from developmental, orthopedic, cognitive, and behavioral impairments. One-on-one assistants are encouraged to join class with the student if needed. Funding for a one-on-one class assistant may also be available through a generous MBT donor if your family needs assistance. Please inquire for details.

Tuition for full-year classes or Semester classes is payable in full at registration or may be payable in installments through an automated payment plan. Payment plans must be automated with a credit/debit card kept on file at MBT. Payment plans for the 2017/2018 Academic Year must be fulfilled by November 1 (Semester 1) or March 1 (Full-year or Semester 2), unless otherwise permitted in writing by an authorized member of MBT’s staff on the payment plan authorization form. Tuition paid in full by check or cash prior to August 15, 2017 will be given a 2% discount on tuition. A $25 late fee is assessed for payment after due date due to expired/declined account information. It is your responsibility to notify the office with any changes to your payment method. Semester classes are discounted only with commitment to a full year. Tuition is pro-rated for mid-year enrollments. All tuition is non-refundable. Special price options for additional classes outside of initial program are to be used by same student; siblings may not “share” that offer. For some classes, placement by an MBT faculty member will be required as noted. For all classes not requiring a faculty placement, students are placed based on their age as of September 1, 2017.
