abate of florida inc gator alley chapter presidents report hey everyone hope everyone is fine and healthy just a few lines to catch everyone up in case they missed the meeting 5 star was a success once again i want to thank everyone that helped out with putting this on the past board worked hard to get this going just like in the past the previous board gets it moving and a new board comes in i want to thank jim kalvin for donating the cooker for this event we had 87 members show up for the poker run not counting those folks who were already there working the run cooking helping out along the way a lot of things are coming up soon as well the birthday party is this month don t forget september 25th and then our chapter meeting the next day a little party and then business i know we have been getting a lot of rain again this month so be careful out there till i see ya hey everyone i hope everyone had a great august i don t know about you but i am ready for some continuous dry weather i would like to wash and detail my bike without the fear of it raining later that day and of course if you chose not to wash your bike that day it will not rain well what is that old saying six of one and a half-of-dozen of the other i would like to re-iterate on an article i did back in march of 2010 for those of you that like to keep your bikes clean i may have a tip or two this is especially true at this time of year with all of the rain and high humidity that we have as i was getting ready to wash my bike the other day and noticed on my forks that haze look i washed and then waxed my bike and the haze was still there now this haze had a different appearance then that of what sand does after 100 s of miles of riding well i went over to ace hardware and bought a bottle of brasso what a great job it did my chrome looked as it did when i first put it on my bike you might want to give it a try if so make sure you start in a small out of the way place to see what it does and if you like it i use the brasso about 2-3 times a year ok it is that time for name that song first august s winner was samatha she was the first to name that song the angry american by toby keith nice job samatha as she won $25.00 ok go the section labeled teach s song of the month for this month s clue good luck remember i need the name of the song and the artist emailed to me if you think you have won make sure you attend the general membership meeting that month remember life s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a pristine well-preserved body but rather to skid in sideways totally used up and worn out shouting holy sht what a ride i guess that is it for now remember i know you are thankful for someone make sure you let them know if anyone has any questions information or comments that you would like me to bring to the board meeting just email me be good ride safe and have fun vice presidents report teach page 4 abate of fla inc · gator alley chapter[close]

abate of florida inc gator alley chapter 08/22/10 general membership meeting minutes meeting was called to order at 11:00 am by roger stood for the pledge of allegiance moment of silence roger thanked lisa jerry with signs of the times for there quick turn around for our board members tags and 5-star tags at the 5-star run we got to keep our trophy again this year we had 87 members sign in on the run not counting the ones that signed in under the gate vice president teach introduced boots from our state office patty nasrallah our state treasurer lockdown said boots is one of two people from florida who went into the hall of fame cadillac introduced chris kelly from the sport riders teach recognized all new members and life member marie song of the month was the angry american by toby keith the winner was samantha secretary ethel no additions or correction to minutes in newsletter motion made by jenny seconded by lynn to accept the minutes as printed in newsletter passed sgt at arms jim not much to report we had no incidents that he knows about he thanked dave pappas jerry mason for helping with security at the 5-star he asked to keep down the conversation in the meeting while people are speaking treasurer scarlet has taken in money and written several checks motion by darrin seconded by rambo to accept her report passed one opposed crabby legislative report darrin he spoke on the stiffer penalty bill he also said forest chapter had nine candidates each had five minutes to speak on how they can help motorcycle rights other chapters are telling darrin they are having candidates speaking at meetings so abate is getting recognize for more see his report in newsletter darrin introduced our guest speaker david rivera he spoke and answered questions from our members state delegate fred was unable to attend marie bill went to state meeting see marie s report in newsletter safety director frizz he needs to know all that are certified please get with him we have been invited to do safety membership presentation at bike nite the 28th at tin city need a couple people to volunteer debi has been invited to set up products thunder alley in october teach will need volunteers for that event membership denise we have 517 members 2 life members packets to pass out at 5-star 1 life marie 3 new 1 renewal anniversary pins were passed out we will be having a membership drive starting at this meeting and ending at the november s meeting with a prize we have eight boxes of old membership forms in storage she talked with state membership and we only have to keep them for three years before shredding ethel will go though them newsletter laurajo was excused roger gave her report see it in newsletter special events heidi march of dimes at tin city we will be doing the 50/50 half to the winner and the other half will be our donation to the march of dimes mda need six volunteers heidi asked if the chapter would donate $100.00 motion by crabby seconded by scarlet passed birthday party september 25th at vfw fun run to sneaky pete s p.r karen was excused ad executive nora we have three new ad s extreme riders inc jimers sport bar stan pritchard painting products debi she thanked marie bill for picking up her products at the state meeting she has necklaces earrings at the back table quartermaster rambo he needs bike tickets to sell if anyone has some he s gotten the inventory completed and everything is quartered page 6 abate of fla inc · gator alley chapter secretary s report[close]

www .gatoralley.net 08/22/10 general membership meeting minutes cont d mastered sunshine report margo she sent out cards she made a card for heidi to give with the money collected for the young man who lost his hand she will send a card to rod s home address she will send doc fish a thinking of you card rick would like her to send a back in the saddle card to his dad he s 72 years young and just brought a road king from an 83 year young man margo would like you to call her with good news too president roger asked to be excused and turned the meeting over to teach webmaster lockdown thunder alley flyer has been approved by state and can be downloaded from the gator alley web site old business events coming up thunder alley october 9th we still need a lot of volunteers september 14th at 7:00 pm committee meeting at the kalvin s september 11th we will be getting together at 9:00 am to clear the weeds from the side of the road the birthday party september 25th from 5:30 to 10:30 pm margo would like permission to exeed the budget go over the what last year we went over the $1000.00 last years party was around $1300.00 she will try to keep things low motion by jenny seconded by frank and passed she has sign up sheet for the side dishes frizz state meeting december 11th at port of the islands we do have the opportunity to use the skeet trap pistol range they do have gun rentals doc has approved that we can put that on the flyer we will need at least six people working the state meeting 5-star great time frankie has all the book work and we should know the bottom line by next week what each chapter will get memorial run ruth saturday october 16th if you have names to add to the list see ruth there will be a list at the birthday party to look at and add to if needed new business lynn run and gobble on november 14th if any questions or to help call crabby swamp to the city run needs chairperson scarlet volunteer to chair in january we have the bike jamboree and need chairperson rusty volunteer to chair good of the order cadillac he has invited as his guest chris from the sport riders to put on a show after our meeting is over chris is now the first abate member from the sports riders lynn swamp buggy weekend they let us have our safety membership booth set up inside for free they have asked us if we would work the ticket gate on saturday sunday six hours each day and we will need six people each day gator alley will get paid if interested she needs to know a motion was made by ruth seconded by rick the gator alley would work the swamp buggy events passed jim there is a benefit down in copeland on the 28th for three young girls whose parents died darrin don t forget to vote fred thanked everyone for coming out to support 8-up at the pewter mug rusty was out in sturgis and wanted to let us know what an impact with doc s work with ncom and his success with his legislative work in abate he is known thoughout the motorcycle community be proud of the work doc darrin lockdown and the state board has done for our motorcycle rights next bod meeting september 16th chapter meeting september 26th 50/50 winner jenny t-shirt winner tina motion to adjourn by frizz seconded by crabby at 1:03 pm respectfully submitted abate of fla inc · gator alley chapter ethel page 7[close]

abate of florida inc hello everyone gator alley chapter st arms report well august has been a quiet month and there are no incidents to report however the next few months look to be busy ones we are going to be needing help at the front gate and for security during the thunder alley rally which is set for october 9 2010 at the harley davidson in naples i will be passing around sign up sheets at the next meeting if you are unable to attend the meeting feel free to e-mail me or call me to let me know what times you are available to help the rally runs from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm whatever hours you can work will be greatly appreciated looking ahead we will also be needing road captains for the heritage run and security for the december state abate board meeting remember this chapter belongs to all of us and we all have to do our share to make it successful your participation is always needed and greatly appreciated let s make this a great year till we meet again ride safe and have fun jim hashman gator alley sgt.of arms state delegates report our next state meeting is on saturday october 2nd at spooks and scoots see flyer in this newsletter i encourage all who can to attend a state meeting you will see how the corporation is organized and how important the local chapters are to its success as a bonus spooks and scoots is advertised as the 1 biker party in florida you will not be disappointed you probably have not seen anything like it you have to see the ceremony for our lost brothers and sisters and stop by and say hi to curt and bart the keepers of the bridge see you all there by the way i believe i forgot to thank bill ratcliff for filling in for fred marie ratcliff state delegate abate history please send lynn your photos of events from this year for the history table at the birthday party email lcorr61@comcast.net also if anyone has any extra photo albums that are not the magnetic type and would like to donate this would be appreciated thanks lynn page 8 abate of fla inc · gator alley chapter[close]

abate of florida inc hey everyone gator alley chapter legislative report the primaries are over and after the dust has settled abate of florida came out pretty well throughout all the races in florida i hope that everyone who is a member of abate of florida inc was able to get out and vote with all the opportunities to vote there are very few good reasons why you could not vote after all we had early voting monday thru saturday until 7pm the absentee ballot is a great choice for those that will be out of town or not able to leave the home for medical reasons there is no way that you could have forgot the ads were almost non-stop on tv radio the mail and even the pesky phone calls i have heard from one member that they just did not want to vote my response was to question why they are a member of a motorcycle rights organization if they are not willing to help the cause by voting if they just want to belong to a group there are plenty of other groups to join where you do not have to raise a finger to help others i offer this quote from an american crisis by thomas payne this was written during the lowest point of the american revolution in 1776 when many americans had started to grow weary of the fight for freedom these are the times that try men s souls the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will in this crisis shrink from the service of their country but he that stands by it now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman tyranny like hell is not easily conquered yet we have this consolation with us that the harder the conflict the more glorious the triumph what we obtain too cheap we esteem too lightly it is dearness only that gives every thing its value heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated i urge you to remember why you joined abate of florida inc in the first place now is not the time to shrink from your ability to help in this continued fight for the rights of all motorcyclist abate of florida inc stands up for the rights of each and every motorcyclist in florida we do not care what they ride we just want them to have the freedom to ride it is not about helmets it is about the freedom of individual choice to decide for ourselves what to wear it is about a legal mode of transportation and the fight to keep the legislature from stomping on our rights abate of florida inc is the leader in protecting motorcycle rights in florida and as all leaders we attract the slings and arrows of those that want to see something better than them fail the vast majority of the motorcyclist in florida will never know how abate of florida inc has preserved and protected their ability to ride just like the vast majority of americans will never know what our veterans throughout our history did to create and preserve our freedom to cast our individual vote as to how we will be governed now that the general election is upon us we need every member to exercise their freedom and vote we can not shrink from our duties to to protect the freedom and rights of motorcyclist across florida darrin brooks state legislative trustee page 10 abate of fla inc · gator alley chapter[close]

abate of florida inc gator alley chapter august sunshine report bob bonella west coast chapter get well card for his motorcycle accident i received word back that he got the card and appreciated our thoughts and prayers for his speedy recovery heidi yahl get well card for her gallbladder attack that gave her a good scare along with a mighty pain let s hope it lays low and if you do have another episode tom will be home to take you to the er tim delano the young man who lost his hand in a bizarre incident with an alligator get well card which held the generous donation from our group thank you to all of those at the meeting who chipped in and helped make a little difference for a person in need phil teach depuy a get well card for his emergency trip to the er for his severe back issue luckily he was well taken care of and able to go back to work please take it easy and don t over do it even though some of the nurses are cute you don t want to spend too much time with all those sick people danny doc fish vice president of abate of florida inc a thinking of you card as he is dealing with a father who is ill best wishes to you and your family rod lanhan a get well card for a motorcycle accident that he experience while up at the east coast sturgis rally last word was that he was up north receiving treatment but hopefully is home by now and recovering from his injuries john loy a congratulations card for getting back in the saddle again after many years off from riding with his latest purchase of a trike looking forward to seeing you out on the road pop just don t take any riding advice from rick he is 0 for 3 and a forgot to mention at the meeting our lovable adorable and charming paul evans a get well/thinking of you card as he is dealing with a very serious and painful neck issue that may eventually send him to the operating table his medication caused a reaction that took away from his fun time while on vacation in the dominican republic but i am sure the evans clan was able to drink their monies worth at that all-inclusive resort be careful my friend question what happens if you get scared 1/2 to death twice respectfully submitted by page 14 margo dugan sunshine chairperson abate of fla inc · gator alley chapter[close]
