hey everyone welcome to 2010 the year of the gator the year that collier county realizes what 500 educated voters can do this fall we have a huge primary and general election that will affect us locally statewide and nationally we need to be ready to make educated choices in electing those people who can best lead us we all need to be aware of what is going on in our community and and in our lives because the past few years have been tough for all of us and completely devastating to some of us it is time that we start to help each other up and look towards a better future one that we will help shape just as we shape the future of gator alley chapter gator alley is not the same chapter it was 10 or 20 years ago and that is a great thing we have matured and grown into a responsible organization in our community and in our state our founding members and early leaders have started us on this wonderful path and it is up to us to continue guiding our future the gator has been recognized now it is time let its growl be heard by those who wish to lead our community it is time for us to take part in deciding our future to decide who we want to represent us on the school board the county commission the florida house and senate the governorship and at the federal level i have already been approached by a few candidates for local and statewide offices they came to ask if they could speak to gator alley chapter to tell our members about their plans i think that they have recognized the gator ask rep matt hudson about gator alley and watch the slow smile spread across his face as he tells you that he is a proud member of that fine chapter the gator is getting recognized now it must be heard the gator s growl is one that starts low and slow from deep inside the belly it turns and churns until it erupts for all to hear 2010 is the year the growl erupts for all to hear as voter s the power is in our hands and with 500 members not mention those that we come in contact with in our daily lives that is an ever increasing sphere of influence i make you this vow to expose you to as many opportunities for education that i can my desire is that you become an educated voter so that we can make our future better not just for us but for our next generation see ya darrin scribe brooks legislative trustee abate of fla inc gator alley chapter page 14
