We will work with a new theme each term, which people can adapt to meet their own needs. Students are encouraged to look at the work of other artists and experiment with a range of materials. n DIGITAL PHOTO AND VIDEO WORKSHOPS - Beginners June 9, 16 and 23 Fridays 10:30 am – 3:30 pm Tutor: Mirco Cordeiro Cost: A: £10 C: £5 per session or A: £25 C: £10 for all three sessions June 9 • Green Screen photoshoot Take photos in front of a green screen and replace it with any background. Do you want a photo with a celebrity? Or in an exotic place? The only limit is your imagination. June16 • Stop-motion animation Have fun and learn how to do short videos using photos. It’s the same technique used on Wallace & Gromit, Jason and the Argonauts, early Disney cartoons and The Matrix. June 23 • Video short story Learn how to structure videos to tell a short story. You’ll learn how to plan a video shoot, storyboard, produce, record and edit the video. n DRAMA WORKSHOPS – Introduction June 14, 21 and 28 • Wednesdays 10 am – 1 pm Tutor: Hugo Coutinho • A: £10 C: £5 per session or A: £25 C: £10 for all three sessions We often find ourselves wondering if we could actually be an actor. This informal workshop, will find the actor within each of us. You will develop relaxation techniques, confidence, body movement, automatic writing and have some fun. Discover different dimensions in each of the 3 workshops, yet all will have the same structure to enable you to tailor your development. n EXPERIMENTS IN TEXTILES May 2 - June 13 • 6 weeks Tuesdays 12:30pm – 2:30pm Tutor: Silke Savran • Cost: Free This course will show you how to fire up your imagination, creativity and resourcefulness by learning how to turn recycled materials into works of art, textile pieces and accessories. You will experiment with basic weaving, printing and 3D-constructing techniques to improve your artistic skills, wardrobe and home without stretching your budget. n SUMMER FLOWER ARRANGING WORKSHOP June 22 • Thursday • 10am – 1pm Tutor: Nina Tucknott • Cost: A: £25 C:£8 Come along and create a beautiful floral design using summer flowers and foliage. There is a £5 cost for materials payable to the tutor on the day. All flowers and other materials will be provided. Please bring scissors or secateurs if you have them and a notebook. n GUITAR May 2 – July 4 • 9 weeks Fridays 9.30am – 2pm • Tutor: Robin Jones Cost: £12 for 30 min lesson Have a first go at strumming the guitar, learn to play your favourite tune or perfect your sing and song writing skills. All levels and abilities welcome. n MOSAICS May 24 – July 19 • 7 weeks Wednesdays 10am – 12 noon Tutor: Emma Sutherland • Cost: A: £80 B: £40 C: £18 Design and make your own mosaic mirror, frame, plant pot, tile or gift using handmade tiles, vintage, crockery, mirror pieces plus pieces bought from home. A small charge for mosaic-making materials apply. n PIANO April 28 – July 7 • 10 weeks Fridays 1:30pm – 6pm • Tutor: Lubov Simon Cost: 7.50 for 20 min, £10.50 for 30 min lesson Lubov is a classically trained pianist. All ages and abilities are welcome. 100% pass rate in the piano exam. n POTTERY & CERAMICS FOR ALL DAY: April 24 – July 3 • 9 weeks Mondays 12.30pm – 2.30pm EVENING: May 4 – July 6 • 9 weeks Thursdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm Tutor: Sabine Dahn Cost: A: £80 B: £40 C: £18 + £5 materials to all Beginners will gain confidence in basic ceramic techniques: pinching, coiling and slabbing. Scope for experienced pottery enthusiast to develop their own ideas. Beginners, adults and children with supervision welcome! n PRINTING WORKSHOP June 8 • Thursday 10am – 3pm Tutor: Martina Tighe • Cost: A: £35 C:£10 This course gives you the opportunity to explore simple printing techniques including mono printing, and screen printing. We will use different materials such as paper, t-shirts, tea-towels and re-cycled textiles to print onto. Come along and make your mark! Suitable for beginners and those with experience. PAYING You must pay for your course (and any exam fees) up front.We can accept payment by card over the phone or when you pop in. Refunds will only be issued if a course is cancelled by us.
