may 2011 equine health goulburn valley reining horse association wangaratta equine hospital the wangaratta equine hospital was officially opened on the 1st of august 2010 the practice is a purpose built specialist equine hospital that was developed as a result of the special interest in horses by the principals of the warby st veterinary hospital drs graeme blanch and andrew bett have been heavily involved in the treatment of horses in ne victoria for more than 20 years and always dreamed of a facility that would allow better care for their patients and the opportunity for specialist procedures to be done locally the wangaratta equine hospital weh is the realisation of their dream and hard work the caseload at the weh has been steadily growing since that first rainy afternoon in august and there are now horses regularly coming and going from the centre we are pleased to work with 3 specialist equine surgeons dr alastair maclean dr anthony dredge and dr bryan hilbert these surgeons attend the practice to perform specialised surgical procedures such as laryngeal tiebacks for roarers and arthroscopy to remove bone chips from affected joints the hospital is equipped with state of the art endoscopy and arthroscopy equipment as well as a dedicated aseptic surgical theatre complete with induction and recovery boxes the hospital stable can accommodate 7 horses at any time with provisions to have them on iv fluids during their stay we also have several small yards and paddocks which allow our clients to safely load and unload their horses as well as leave them for the day the weh is still heavily involved in on farm horse examinations and treatment the hospital complex however provides owners with the convenience of dropping their horse off and picking it up later which has the added benefit of avoiding any travel fees the following is a list of services that we are pleased to offer equine medicine anaesthesia and surgery equine reproduction and stud medicine artificial insemination lameness workup radiography xray and ultrasound video endoscopy equine dentistry foal medicine and surgery chiropractic and farrier services ambulatory on farm services and hospitalisation export radiography and certification prepurchase examinations irap joint therapy stem cell therapies in house pathology veterinary supplies if you do not see what you are after please give us a call to discuss your needs on 03 5722 3400 we look forward to seeing you and your horses in the near future regards dr tim craig bvsc wangaratta equine hospital 218 tone rd wangaratta vic 3677 03 5722 3400
