july 22 2011 pjs and jelly fish pancake day was such a success everywhere you looked campers and counselors were sporting their fancy pajamas the campers enjoyed sitting down to a delicious snack of tummy warming pancakes morah anita s galloping seahorses loved adding the pancake ingredients mixing the batter and watching them sizzle on the griddle it felt like home away from home next on the agenda was picture day the smiling faces on the jcc campers were contagious morah robin s cool catfish were first to smile giggle and laugh with joy we can t wait to see the beautiful photographs very soon this week we still had time to bake the most amazing sea shell cookies morah miri s giggling guppies created fabulous colorful designs camp jcc is the best place to be by the beautiful deep blue sea crafty kids we read do pirates take baths written by kathy tucker and illustrated by nadine bernard westcott come along for a shiver-me-timbers sea voyage and find out all about pirates morah laurie s shining starfish loved the story about the crew of lovable fellows who capture ships and hunt for treasure morah tovi and rachel s dancing dolphins had a blast making treasure chests the treasure chests were decorated with shells fish and gemstones music corner morah joan and sara s clapping clownfish danced and sang to morah kayli s new summer songs they are even clapping along to their clownfish theme song we can t wait to hear it during our last week of camp.

we had some fun in the sun with beach volleyball this week morah rachel s jumping jelly fish enjoyed throwing the balls over the net morah rina s leaping leapfrogs practiced their serves by punching the ball and learned how to do a set pass and bumping the ball morah roberta s zesty zebra fish volleyed the ball with a partner from morah francee s terrific turtles morah karen s outrageous otters learned to spike the ball and even played a game the game ended with a tie score so everyone was a winner morah judi s peppy penguins enjoyed surfing with scooters morah draisel s shaking sharks loved the beanbag balancing act and beach ball bounce back splish splashing away morah shalhevet s wiggling whales were blowing bubbles in the pool and kicking with the floats they are improving their skills every day morah terri s silly sea urchins were seen running through the sprinklers our youngest 2s are having so much fun morah lisa s popping porpoises love playing with the duckies and pails in the cool camp pools simcha corner mazel tov to the gantz family on the birth of shlomo s baby sister birthday madness mazel tov and happy birthday to max davis yehuda schreck jeremy ginzburg zackery weiss dani majeski coming attractions tuesdaypaper bag sea creatures wednesday animal science show thursday ­ coral reef creations reminders 1-please label all clothes that come to camp we have a collection of swimsuits and shorts that are collecting in the lost and found 2 please have your camper wear their camp shirt on science day and shabbat 3 -a limited amount of camp shirts are still available they are going fast 4 the jcc children s food pantry drive continues until the end of next week please help us fill the colorful garbage pails to the top 5 camp tisha b av is almost full please get your application in next week shabbat shalom jcc summer staff
