of that lately and it can never be said that i am bored in my so-called retirement t aint so lucille has gone to georgia to spend the easter holiday with her daughter diana and i will try to get many little jobs done around the house in her absence my son jeff and his wife rita have just spent three days here fixing up my old place and it is looking pretty good i now have a new ceiling and molding in the add-a-room and new paneling in the bedroom where the rain from hurricane charlie beat in the window and rotted it he put an awning on the window and new doorlocks on the add-a-room doors and now i must paint put my flower garden to rest and do a 100 other jobs that must be done before i head north on may 16 daughter brenda will fly down to drive me home and we will stop in williamsburg va to spend a day at busch gardens courtesy of my sister joanne who sent me free tickets lucille and kay and i were again invited to sarasota for lunch at the amish restaurant where we all met before we were joined by marie murray weston and hubby carl virginia pillsbury lints and hubby don and marilyn kumin meyers and hubby john after a short tour of the new waterfront sculptures on sarasota bay we went to ginny and don s for homemade key lime pie and tasty cherry dessert yum then i discovered a kumquat tree in their back yard that was heavy with fruit and i greedily filled a large bag with them while don pulled the branches down for me to reach i was in kumquat heaven i did share them reluctantly with lucille and kay but i ate most myself glendene woodbury horion called me a while ago to tell me of her grandson andy horion who attends a manchester high school and received a commendation and a handshake from the governor of nh for his scholastic endeavors she was as proud as a peacock and rightly so as andy is her only grandchild way to go andy tentative plans are in the making for our 55th reunion and we would like your input as to what you might like marilyn kumin meyers has offered to secure the clubhouse in the bedford community where she and john live we are thinking an afternoon gathering would be nice as there is a scenic trail along the merrimack river that connects in their park we would then have a dinner either catered or otherwise depending on how many would attend the cost would be nominal as we still have money in our treasury from the last reunion another possibility would be an outdoor cookout at ellacoya state park where i could get the large shelter with an outdoor grill but then we always have to think about a rainy day it will be held in september this year as both lucille and i will not be returning from florida until late may and we both have many committments this summer me with my job at ellacoya and lucille with trips planned and weddings and graduations to attend my job at ellacoya ends on labor day so we thought that the next weekend would be perfect both weatherwise and timewise please call me at 603 293-4382 after may 20 or write and let me know your thoughts we promise a good time but need to know what you would like have a great spring claire 51 alumnus spring 2006 11
