i am alive and well my sister betty forwarded your letter and it has been hanging around on my desk for awhile collecting dust we had hoped to attend the 65th class reunion on the 21st but have been unable to clear my schedule to fit in a trip to nh expect the attendance will not be of a large number for our class we look back fondly on our attendance at both the 4 fall 2008 www.pinkertonacademy.net football reunion in 1992 and also the 50th class reunion the following year i have been working on a part-time basis for a local insurance company as their financial adviser and accounting manager this keeps me very busy on a daily basis and makes traveling rather difficult on occasion we have been away from home and i have been able to keep up with my work on my laptop however this does not constitute much of a vacation one of these days i do believe i will actually retire my wife and i will be celebrating out 60th wedding anniversary in november we have four children eleven grandchildren and a great-grandson who will be six in august how time flies be sure to remember me to all of our classmates who attend the reunion we would have loved to be there with you to see everyone and take a stroll down memory lane best wishes, walt robertson i replied to walter the same day and wrote i was both happy and surprised to hear from you after so many years glad to hear that all is well with you folks and things are going so well i ll pass the letter on to the classmates who attend this year and i ll also send it into the alumni office for publication i wrote a little about myself and closed with best wishes it was sad that more of our classmates couldn t attend the pinkerton biennial alumni day this past june 21 i thought because it was our 65th anniversary year i would see more classmates there i received a call from bill stewart expressing their regrets for not attending but he was having serious knee trouble and wouldn t be able to take the trip to new hampshire bill his wife bill s sister and her husband looked forward to being at the biennial reunions and drove up from long island on several occasions this year s reunion was a nice affair with many classes in attendance i noticed our class is getting closer to the podium each time this affair comes around our class of `43 was represented by four classmates patricia perry johnson margaret manning morrison lillian dooley warren and daughter and me i had plenty of time to converse with the ladies at the table and was able to get caught up on old and new happenings it was nice being the see her cousins and other relatives while she was here since she lives so far away she does not get back here to derry very often so it was a happy event for gladys claire manseau is looking so well and trim she has lost a lot of weight and looks wonderful which she refuses to believe even though everyone told her so she says she felt better when she was heavier every now and then when picking up messages on the answering machine i am treated to organ music and know that it is claire playing a song or two for me she has always been gifted in that she is able to play any tune by listening to it once or twice and she knows how much i enjoy it when she plays for me i have never succeeded in convincing her that she should play publicly however although i could not elicit any information from nathalie about anything recent in her life which she said is pretty uneventful i did learn that her picture was in the union leader derry-londonderry section this past tuesday the 19th of august she was photographed while weighing tomatoes at the stanley kuligowski vegetable stand on high street will try to get a copy of the picture in the alumnus if possible when i asked claire ball how her son larry is doing she told me a wonderful story his brothers who knew how much he longed to be able to get out on his boat once again before selling it were speaking with someone at the marina where his boat was kept that person when he heard larry s story volunteered to use his equipment to lift larry with his wheelchair onto the boat this was arranged as a surprise the kindness of this stranger enabled larry to power his boat around the lake something he had not imagined he could ever do again his delight as well as his family s is easy to envision claire ball has also been very busy this summer hosting a family reunion for the cote family she has been doing this for several years now i understand that john and ethel bailey cadieux were there along with rita legendre demers `43 who is spending a few weeks here before returning to florida rita told me it was a huge success again this year frances johns marquis celebrated her birthday with her family in hampton nh after dinner they bertha hall bourque bertha is doing great still working one day a week at the dry goods store claire and i told her that we have both retired this year and wondered if she intends to do the same but
