One of nine authenticated by PSA according to the Population Report with two recorded at SGC, making this one of a dozen or so known to exist. This is the the lesser known and toughest to find rarity in the legendary T206 set! Provenance: Current owners grandfather presented this to his father as part of a large collection in November 1910. ($100,000-$200,000) LOT #111a: 1911 Fred Merkle New York Giants Championship Trophy. Presented to New York Giants First Baseman Fred "Bonehead" Merkle, this trophy was presented to Merkle to commemorate the New York Giants 1911 National League Championship. Each player was awarded a trophy and this is only the third known to come for auction. Measures 9.5" tall and is marked "STERLING" and "DIEGES & CLUST".
