Dear Friends: Chaos and confusion seem to characterize much of the world today. This may appear to be a trivial matter but is an indicator of the serious problems in Venezuela. Coca-Cola has suspended production due to lack of sugar and raw materials. Some have called Venezuela’s inflation rate, “the world’s highest,” at around 800%. Thankfully, The Voice in the Wilderness was able to get funds to one of the missionaries we have worked with for several years. Many of our brothers and sisters are suffering because of the oppressive government in Venezuela. Daily necessities are virtually unavailable or beyond their reach financially. Please keep the churches in your prayers. God is certainly able to overcome these adversities but they will need our continued intercession during this crisis. Hopefully, by now you have received the new printed edition of The Voice in the Wilderness. Let us hear from you from time to time. It is always an encouragement to get letters from subscribers and supporters. Our monthly “Prayer Letter” outlines some of the projects and needs at this time. Thank you so much for your partnership with The Voice in the Wilderness. For Christ and souls, Ronnie L. Williamson Isa. 40:31 Happy Trails! 2•The Voice in the Wilderness - May 2016 Virtual Edition

We are supported by the gifts of those who care. Contributions to The Voice in the Wilderness for projects or to support the ministry of a missionary will be used as indicated by the donor following approved policies and procedures. Gifts are tax deductible and should be made out to The Voice in the Wilderness. NEWS BITS FROM HERE AND THERE Washington Waste - Newsweek.com reports the following on waste and uncontrolled spending in Washington..: The Social Security Administration sent $18 million in stimulus funds to 71,688 dead people, and $40.3 million in questionable benefit payments to 1,760 deceased individuals; the Department of Agriculture sent $41.1 billion in farming subsidies to dead farmers; The Department of Health and Human Services sent $3.9 million to 11,000 dead people to help pay heating and cooling cost; and Medicare paid up to $492 million in claims for medical supplies prescribed by dead doctors and $8.2 million for medical supplies prescribed for dead patients. It would be interesting to know who was cashing these checks. (Editor: From first-hand experience, I know of numerous individuals deceased yet still listed as registered voters. In the county in which I live, some years ago, there was a big investigation of “dead voters.”) ObamaCare - The Heritage Foundation says, “The President just doesn’t get it. According to the national exit poll, just 16% of voters want to leave ObamaCare as is. A full 48% of voters want to see it out-right repealed, and another 31% want to see it changed in some way. Americans do want to relitigate ObamaCare. U.S. Takeover - Policy of the elitist take-over group robs from any and everybody to expand their powergrab. Property ownership and privacy means nothing to this crowd. Look at Obama on Israel, for example. He is against Israel’s plan to build on their own land in East Jerusalem. Is this man anti-U.S./Israel and pro-Muslim/Socialist or what? Pray for us! www.thevoiceinthewilderness.org Dr. Ronnie L. Williamson Dr. J. Royce Thomason Memorial Voice in the Wilderness P.O. It is a blessing and a burden of my heart to share these messages on Discipleship. Shortly after I got saved, I was privileged to be involved in several studies that dramatically enhanced my growth in Christ. Through these lessons, I will share what the Lord was doing for me during the first twelve to twenty-four months of my walk with Christ. (If you haven’t already, be sure to read the April 2016 Virutal Edition for Part 1 of this Discipleship lesson.) How big is your God? Sadly, many believers live in the light of a very small faith. Ponder these thoughts as an encouragement to the service of our great God. WHO IS GOD? Exodus 3:14 “I AM THAT I AM.” It is critical to understanding Who God is, His existence and personality for every believer. Study the names of God and the Scripture references. Jehovah-Jireh: The Lord will provide (Gen. 22:13,14) Jehovah-Rapha: The Lord that healeth (Ex. 15:26) Jehovah-Nissi: The Lord our Banner (Ex. 17:8-15) Jehovah-Shalom: The Lord our Peace (Judges 6:24) Jehovah-Ra-ah: The Lord my Shepherd (Ps. 23:1) Jehovah-Tsidkenu: The Lord our Righteousness (Jer. 23:6) Jehovah-Shammah: The Lord is present (Ezek. 48:35) 4•The Voice in the Wilderness - May 2016 Virtual Edition

Proofs or Arguments for the Existence of God. • The Universal Belief in the Existence of God all around the world—there is a universal belief in a Supreme Being. (Originates from within) • The Argument From Cause—Cosmological man exists and owes his existence to some cause. • The Argument From Design—Teleological—An ink pen not only exists but has a designer. All the complexities, plants, animals—each and everyone cannot be attributed to happen-stance, Big Bang, natural selection or survival of the fittest. • The Argument From Being—Ontological—Just the idea of the infinite declares from finite beings the existence of the Infinite One. • The Moral Argument—Anthropological—Do’s and Don’ts— Thou shalt and thou shalt not. Man is an intellectual and moral being. Where did this right and wrong come from? • The Argument From Congruity—We have the key that fits all the locks. Evolution and Atheism leave nothing but questions. • The Argument From Scripture—In the beginning God. Satan began his attack, “yea, hath God said…?” The proliferation of modern Bible Versions is nothing but an attack on God’s Word. Rom. 1:19-21, 28, 32; 2:15 and Heb. 11:3. Charles Darwin and his 1859 “On the Origin of Species” was a bunch of mumbo jumbo wrapped up in pseudo-scientific gobbledy goop swallowed by sinful men wanting a way to appease their guilty minds of accountability to God. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 • • • • • • • • • Is there a God? Where did God come from? Is Jesus Christ God? Does Christianity make sense? Did Christ rise from the dead? How do I know the Bible is God’s Word? Which Bible do I believe? Does science and Scripture agree? What about miracles, evil, and suffering. For more resources, visit www.thevoiceinthewilderness.org •5

NEWS BITS FROM HERE AND THERE Coca-Cola has announced the suspension of production in Venezuela due to the nation’s sugar shortage. All across the country the people are facing a shortage of needed household goods. Basic food items like flour, vegetable oil, milk, laundry detergent, and toiletries are unavailable. Riots have occurred across the country by frustrated citizens forced to wait, up to 8 eight hours, in ration lines. Opposition legislators in the Venezuelan National Assembly have declared a nutritional emergency. There is a move by the anti-socialists opposition for a recall of President Maduro in the polls this year. Reports indicate Venezuelans are eager to change their government. (Ed.) Obviously, the political and economic chaos deeply affects our brothers and sisters in Venezuela. Pray for them as they struggle daily with basic needs. Reconquista--Still in the minds of many Mexicans is the idea of Reconquista. Some believe that Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and part of Colorado are Mexican Territory stolen by the U.S.A. Reconquista teaches that Mexico is poor and the United States is rich because the U.S.A. stole the oil of Texas and the gold of California.
