march 1st 2010 dear parents we are coming to the end of our theme sharing the planet we have learnt about a lot of wild animals and birds from all over the world and about a few animals from each of the countries represented in our class we have been busy making an album of wild animals which will be displayed in the library for book week india week was a whirlwind of activities with colorful dances and indian music bullock-cart rides craft bazaar our punjabi dance and the indian lunch which was enjoyed by all sports day was a great success the children handled all the games like pros and with all the cheering for their friends you would never say it was their first sports day home country project in the last quarter we have a home country project where the parents from the same country team up and have a small presentation about their country considering the attention span of our three year olds it would be better to have two or three small activities rather than one long one examples song dance action song coloring or simple craft activity modeling the traditional dress of your country a story some food etc since we have 18 students we thought it might be better to start this project now so you could sign up starting now till end of may sign up sheet for the home country project will be put up at the door book week had the children reading tons of books to earn caterpillar segments they had parents and teachers from middle school read to them and the most exciting of all was the book fairy s visit on thursday and of course not to forget aunty jeeva the story teller who kept them enthralled with her animated stories book week has been a great success and has i am sure sown the seed of reading in their little minds thank you everyone for making book week a success jay and asha
