Nora Ridley at Essex Computer Training With over 20 years' experience working in Essex in the IT training industry, I have built a solid reputation for offering IT computer training courses that are high-quality, friendly and relaxed. I deliver focused and relevant IT training to cater for group sizes (up to 8 delegates), one-to-one training, floor-walking and consultancy services to help delegates with their own spreadsheets, databases or documents. This document outlines the standard training course I offer. However, I don’t believe in a ‘once size fits all’ approach to training: all of the courses can be customised to suit your particular requirements, at no extra cost. Even if I am delivering a standard course, I always encourage delegates to raise any particular topics that they are interested in or that are relevant to their working environment (whether that topic is part of the booked standard course or not). Where time allows, I am also happy to look at or answer questions about specific work-based spreadsheets, databases or files. My approach to software training is very practical. Typically courses will run over one or two days, depending on your requirements. Each course begins with an introduction where I establish the current skills of the delegates. Key concepts are then introduced throughout the course as trainer-led demonstrations, followed by a series of graded hands-on exercises. These allow people to develop skills at their own speed and ensure that every delegate learns something new regardless of their current skills. Key concepts are also incorporated into further topics and exercises throughout the course, allowing delegates multiple exposures to key concepts in different situations. I can provide training needs analysis if you are unsure where the skills gaps of your employees are and you need help to determine the correct level of training for them. Some of the Feedback I Have Received From Happy Clients Luke Perry (SeaTrade Global): "The best training I have had in years. 10/10!! I think Nora invented Excel !! Things I THOUGHT I knew are now 10 times quicker and easier.” Ian Vernau (SeaTrade Global): "Top Notch! Eye opening and so helpful." Jessica Bojarski (Benefit Cosmetics): “Great, really enjoyed the basic skills and top tips and ability to alter per person. I’ve picked up a lot to help me in my current role. Nora was super helpful, able to adapt to learning styles and levels. Calm and simplified everything complicated. Her knowledge is great. Answered everything and more. Looking forward to the intermediate course.” Laura Beardon (Benefit Cosmetics): “Nora was great, as well as the training itself. She gave us some fantastic tips and even though attendees were at very different levels, it felt like everyone was supported and included but also developing their own skills. The course was a good mixture of observation and practical. I loved being able to work at my own pace as it enabled me to get as much as possible out of the day.” Alyson Rowe (Benefit Cosmetics): “Seeing I had zilch (no) idea of what Excel was, I found it extremely informative. Nora deserves a medal having put up with me!! She explained it all so easily for me and sat with me until I got it.” Gabrielle Hepworth (Atrium Communications): “Fantastic Course – the personalized approach really helped to problem solve genuine issues to reach a solution. Nora is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The content of the training was amended and adapted to suit our needs as we went along. Great understanding and ability to problem solve. I was able to work at my own pace even though it was a small group. The level was pitched to suit all. Nora had a good sound knowledge and adapted it to suit our understanding.
