q so how did you come up with the name abba i understand that there was more than one name that you used before settling on abba a well we did go through at least two or three names before coming up with abba when we first started out as a cabaret act we called ourselves the festfolk which means engaged people and party people which was a failed attempt then for our song `people need love we used the name bjorn benny agnetha annifrid but that was an unbelievable long name that was so annoying to constantly say so that was another failed name attempt so we decided to go with something that combined all our names was catchy yet not a total mouth full that is how the name abba came to be bjorn ulvaeus i am here with one of the most successful and beloved music groups that rose out of sweden in the seventies abba the writers and singers of `dancing queen `knowing me knowing you `mamma mia `super trouper and `waterloo these amazing pop sensations have agreed to let me ask them a few questions about themselves and their band we are here at my office to answer these questions it is an amazing feeling sitting across from this legendary band so we are going to go inside the heart of abba today with the band members themselves agnetha faltskog q what do you guys think about your success benny anderson bjorn ulvaeus and abroad in your homeland and do you have any anni-frid lyngstad advice for others do you guys ever think you will reform a fans had better make the most out of `bjorn again because that s the closest they are going to get to seeing abba abba will never reform but as for advice i really believe that swedish music and artists can make it abroad it hasn t happened before because no one has really tried i am convinced it can be done and that i can do it i really enjoy what i do-without work life would be meaningless our `secret if we have one is to be completely ruthless about the material we write -benny anderson q where are you all now what are you doing a well after the break up due to in band divorces both frida and i went on to work with a minimal but substantial success on our solo albums frida q how did you all meet where did it all begin released `something s going on 1982 `shine 1984 went into a ten year retirement and then a well at the time bjorn played guitar with the came out of retirement to release `djupa andetag `hootenanny singers and i was keyboardist for the 1996 which was her last album to date i came out `hep stars also known in the homeland as `the with my albums `wrap your arms around me swedish beatles we made some records together 1983 `eyes of a woman 1985 `i stand alone as a duo and we called ourselves bjorn and benny 1987 then released my autobiography `as i am then in like 1972 we used bjorn s wife at the time and after that i released another album `my colouring book 2004 then went into retirement agnetha faltskog and my wife-to-be anni-frid on the other hand benny and bjorn went on to write lyngstad as back up vocalists after we cut in a the music for west end show `chess 1984 with studio `people need love `bjorn and benny the lyricist from tim rice after that they both wrote agnetha and anni-frid was started and the abba `kristina fran duvemala 1995 which was based on phenomenon was not far behind benny anderson a swedish novel by vilhelm moberg next came their biggest hit `mamma mia which is concentrated around abba s songs which benny and bjorn cothat concludes our interview it was amazing talking to the wrote and produced they both received recognition band and getting to dig deeper into the heart of abba we for their song writing by getting an ivor novello hope here at the office that you enjoyed reading more award in 2001 -agnetha faltskohg about these music sensations and hope to see more from these amazing individuals whether separate or whole this band had and still has it all thank you again to our readers talk to you next week caitlyn w

hello everyone i am sitting here with run-dmc if you could be one animal what would it be and why -i d like to be a raven they are already dressed in black so i wouldn t have to change my wardrobe they are also very smart birds what was the most interesting question you have ever been asked in an interview when i was in japan recently i had about 50 interviews each one kept asking me if i was ok i didn t think anything of it until the 50th interview i finally asked why is everyone asking me if i m ok the interviewer responded by telling me that on [checks thugs and rock n roll i was talking about very serious things i then realized that most of my songs were about depression alcoholism on my new album and that s why they must be asking me if i m ok what was the most embarrassing moment you ve ever had on stage one night i was extremely drunk on-stage and somehow i stage dove or fell off the stage without knowing or realizing it and all of a sudden i was in the pit looking up at the stage i was very confused and embarrassed what is your favorite venue to play in my favorite venue to play in are small rock clubs rock clubs are different than hip-hop clubs in a rock club that can hold between 300-450 people it s all about the music and crowd energy not about how you look or the vip area those intimate shows are always so great you always get a great crowd response i can remember one of the best club shows run-dmc ever played was at this small club in north carolina in darius rucker s of hootie in the blowfish s hometown years later when i met darius he told me he was at every show we played at that club and that they were the best concerts he s ever been to -hannah m.

i m here with one of the greatest bands out there luckily rolling stone magazine got a chance to interview a couple bands from rock and roll hall of fame and one of them just happen to be the jackson five so i m here with jackie tito toriano jermaine marlon and michael q so when did your band form and where did you guys form a-well it all started in gary indiana in 1962 when me jackie jermaine marlon and tito when we started our band and started in native indiana we formed when one night joe discovered that jackie tito and jermaine had been playing his treasured old guitar without permission q-so what was it like being brothers and being rock stars a-well being brothers we had a lot of fighting and chaos and always got in trouble by our dad and mom but mostly dad but when it came to being rock stars we were serious but then again we had a lot of fun on the stage q-what was your childhood like with you and your brothers a-well our childhood was very complicated because my mom was jehovah s witness and we were always practicing our songs and my dad was always away playing in his band so we couldn t go anywhere fun and if we did it was at a very minimum q-what made you guys want to sing or start your band a-well we really didn t have any of this stuff planed like having any body sing or play instruments we were just blessed with good talents of singing and dancing and playing instruments our dad just got us started and music just makes us smile and feel good jaden w

bruce springsteen bruce springsteen an american rock star that has brought great music to the world has agreed to have an interview with us bruce springsteen has one awards such as grammys an academy award and the polar music prize his greatest selling album was born in the usa that came out in 1984 it sold 15 million copies which is a very good accomplishment he enjoys doing charity work for places that have natural disasters when haiti got hit with the earthquakes he preformed on the telethon hope for haiti to raise money for the victims and the horrible damage it did this man s concerts last anywhere from 3 to 4 hours because he puts a lot of work into doing exactly what he loves doing he decided he wanted to be a rock star after he saw elvis presley on the tonight show so mr springsteen what inspired you the most to become a musician i would have to say seeing other big time musicians perform and see how good they were i can remember seeing elvis presley on the tonight show and right there i knew i wanted to be just like him getting all the money and all the fame is the life i wanted to live i followed out that dream and look at me now i ve won 4 grammys an academy award and the polar music prize why do you do so much charity work for places with natural disasters i do it because as a person it makes me feel better knowing that those people have a clean and safe place to live and sleep just think about it would you want to be those families living on the dirt road eating nasty unsanitary food no so i basically put myself in their shoes and i know i would want help too and when you do charity work for places like this the people look at you like your amazing and then there is people out there that start idolizing you that makes me feel pretty good too do you write songs about what you don t feel is right yeah i definitely do like my song 41 shots american skin that was about a black man that got shot by 4 new york police officers when i wrote this song and people started hearing it the nypd tried to boycott my concerts in new york i thought that was really wrong because they had no reason to even shoot the man he wasn t even being a danger or a threat to anybody but things like that happen and i when i hear about it i turn it into a song and usually those are the type of songs that get a lot of peoples attention why didn t you let ronald reagan use your song born in the usa i didn t want him to use it because i felt like he wasn t using the meaning of the song in the right way even though he was running for president and wanting people to think he was really involved in america i still just think he wasn t using it right megan b
