Andrea Mattei, Executive chef, leads his team to confirming this prestigious award Celebrating a successful year at Meo Modo, the fine dining restaurant at Relais Borgo Santo Pietro, our chef Andrea Mattei is thrilled to have confirmed his coveted Michelin star at his new post at the restaurant and boutique hotel in Chiusdino (Siena) - Tuscany. Andrea has a long history and passion for the food of Tuscany, first as Executive Chef at Hotel Byron, where he secured his first Michelin star at La Magnolia restaurant in 2011. Now at his new venture, running the kitchen at Borgo Santo Pietro, his flair for flavour and culinary cuisine has made him top the Michelin inspectors charts yet again. The Michelin Guide is an internationally recognised award paying tribute to Andrea’s commitment to exceptional cuisine with his passion for local ingredients and imaginative cooking. As Executive Chef of the restaurant Meo Modo, Andrea has applied his philosophy for using the very freshest ingredients, much coming from the Tuscan farm owned by the restaurant on the Borgo estate, to create flavourful and palette popping plates of cuisine in a fine dining setting in the heart of rural Tuscany. Owners of the restaurant, Jeanette and Claus Thottrup, comment, “Andrea's cuisine is spellbinding with his creative flair and magical touch to produce dishes to ignite the palette.
