how education is the key to a successful future when words like education discipline and learn are brought into conversation eyes tend to glaze over or roll in dismissal most people seem to have forgotten what it means to educate and be educated learning does not always mean spending money you do not have to listen to a moth-eaten professor drone on with a heavy foreign accent education can be found just about anywhere it is in grandma s cookbook it is played on the 6 o clock news it is in the garage while watching a friend check car tires living is learning and every new day is one of more opportunities to grasp albert einstein once said the important thing is not to stop questioning fabbri and boschetto 527-528 whether it is sitting in a classroom for hours on end cracking open a new book or simply carrying on a debate keeping the mind active by educating one s self is a guaranteed set-up for a life filled with success something worth contemplation is the meaning of the word success and how universal it really is to one person success is a paying the bills with ease dining in 5-star restaurants and winning over their dream-spouse to their neighbor success is getting out of bed in the morning laughing every day or managing to grow a flower not known to their area before one begins striving for success they must first establish what they want out of life conducting balanced and logical thinking requires background knowledge one does not really know what they want until all of the options are laid out on the table and that is where school comes in public schooling is designed to introduce diversity starting the very first day of elementary school there are caucasians indians africans and other mixes of all origins imaginable learning to cope with a variety of cultural and personality types plays a major role in the advancement of the mind educational systems are set up to lightly touch on each main academic subject determine who excels in what areas and place them accordingly kids will always be glaring at their textbooks while questioning when will i ever use this in the real world try to picture what the world would be like if albert 1

einstein had not been taught how to add or michelangelo was never handed a point chisel without introduction there is no chance for new development and very little hope for the future education is the tool box of life one must learn to manipulate each instrument inside the box in order to make their way outside the box in the real world middle and high school are where responsibility and expectations are raised within these few years students are taught to manage deadlines deal with social issues in a sound manner and start entering society youth in public schools are exposed to many things at earlier ages than ones in private academies while focusing on only certain morals and beliefs the private school students minds are brought up into a narrower spectrum a smaller tool box and fewer instruments to grasp while being familiar with the diverse cultures that public school systems provide and holding a bit of maturity and determination under one s belt a strong impact on community peers and one s self can be made with a healthy and organized mind-set one can make clearer and more logical decisions thus leading to growth and accomplishments a school s tool box is only so large holding the minimum amount of mathematical wrenches and literary hammers but the mind s is an infinite abyss with shelves and shelves of tools it would be a shame to let them collect dust by exercising the mind s strengths and weaknesses on the daily one holds the vital key to longevity and prevention of diseases such as dementia or alzheimer s seemingly insignificant activities such as solving a crossword puzzle in the newspaper while eating breakfast partaking in a round of scrabble or trying out a new recipe are what keep the brain pulsing and pumping with years of experience and existence comes wisdom and with wisdom success education is the key that unlocks the door of success behind this door sprouts happiness peace of mind and a bright future for the human race 2
