Welcome to the Year 2 to Year 3 Transition Meeting. These words were all chosen by the children in Year 3 to describe what Year 3 is like.

Many things will remain the same. The children in their class, their friends, some of the adults and the focus on learning. The School Ethos and the Learning Hive are the same and you will still get Dojo points and Dojo time. A few things will change, but your teachers, all the adults at KS2 and your friends will help you.

3D will have a new classroom at the top of the long corridor. It is a big, bright room with blue curtains and a blue carpet.

Team 3S The children from 2F will be in this class. Your teacher is Mr Sharp. The other adults in 3D are - •  Mrs Kenny •  Mrs Wylie

2F will have a new classroom, next door to 3D. Their classroom has a red carpet and blinds.

School starts at 8.45am. Children will line up on the playground. A member of staff will come out to greet them.

Children line up on the corridor, outside their classroom. Their teacher will greet them and welcome them into class.

•  Children have a peg in the cloak room to hang their coats and PE bags on. Coco •  Books bags are brought into class. •  Lunch boxes go on a shelf outside the classrooms, on the corridor. •  Wellington boots go in wire storage racks outside the cloakrooms. Please remember to name all your child’s items to help us find them, if they are lost. Where do I put my things?

The School uniform is the same at KS2, except you may choose to wear uniform with the new school logo on it. Children need to bring indoor shoes,(black pumps) to wear inside. They can bring ‘wellies’ to play out in. Children at KS2 are offered an exciting range of PE options. Their PE kit requirements will depend on the options they are doing.

Morning playtime is at 10.30am. The children have a wonderful play area to play in.

There are always adults out at playtime to make sure that the children have a safe and happy time. Mrs Lambert is the Learning Mentor at KS2. You can always chat with her.

11.45am is Lunchtime. First you go out to play for a while. If you have a packed lunch you come in to get it and go down to the hall to eat it. If you have a school dinner you line up on the yard and an adult will take you to the North Building for lunch.

At 3.20pm it is home time. An adult will wait with the children until they are collected from the playground. Children must not walk home unaccompanied. Take your book bag home every night, so you can read your book and fill in your reading record.

Extreme Learning is very important at KS2. You will be expected to read or practise Maths skills every evening and will get points for your class. There are prizes for the class who practise their learning at home, the most.
