HK Golfer Mailbag Well Done Hong Kong’s QSC Team Although they didn’t have the kind of final round that they would have liked, Hong Kong’s Queen Sirikit Cup team deserve a great deal of credit for their performance over the duration of the tournament. Finishing in sixth place – Hong Kong’s best result for nearly 25 years – was an outstanding effort, and while I can understand t he high expectations that were placed on them after they took the lead in the first round at the Hong Kong Golf Club, Tiffany Chan, Isabella L e u n g a n d K it t y Ta m p r ove d themselves as strong competitors i n a sit u at io n t h at wa s s u r el y packed with pressure. Finishing j u s t a f e w s t r o ke s b e h i n d t h e Philippines and New Zealand in second and third place respectively (Korea certainly lived up to their pre-event favourites tag with an overwhelming victory) shows how far Hong Kong golf has grown in recent times. To beat the likes of China, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia and Malaysia – all huge countries in comparison – is really a remarkable result. Well done to Hong Kong. Jonathan Wong Causeway Bay Editor’s reply: Thank you for your note, Jonathan. To read more about Hong Kong’s hosting of this year’s Queen Sirikit Cup please turn to page 56. Kitty Tam putts during last month's Queen Sirikit Cup, which saw Hong Kong finish in sixth place Happy Landings with Club Glove I have travelled for the purposes of playing golf for over 15 years and I can categorically say that the Club Glove travel bag that I bought from the HK Golfer online store is the best I have ever used – and arguably my best-ever golfing purchase. I have lost count the number of times my golf equipment has become damaged through travel – primarily air travel – but the Last Bag model from Club Glove that I now use in conjunction with the Club Glove Stiff Arm, has pretty much eliminated any worries I have when taking my clubs overseas. Together they protect my clubs from even the most overzealous of baggage handlers. If only they came with a GPS tracking beacon to ensure the airlines would never lose them! A Very Happy Customer Via email Editor’s reply: Many thanks, we’re delighted that you’re delighted by your Club Glove travel bag. But it comes as no surprise: over 90% of Tour pros use them too. We’re adding more and more great equipment to the HK Golfer online store (hkgolfer.com) so be sure to check back regularly for new items. HKGOLFER.COM We Want to Hear from You!
