Pastor Ramos and wife, Alejandra Teaching & Preaching Venezuela Update It has been a privilege and joy for The Voice in the Wilderness to share in the gospel work our Lord is doing in many countries around the world. In 2002 Evangelist Ronnie Williamson and his wife, Terry, with the help of Missionary Tim Carte led a team of Bible College students in door-knocking, street preaching, and church meetings in which 96 precious souls prayed to trust Christ as Saviour. Pastor Carlos Ramos continued with follow-up and discipleship and a new church began in 2004. This past April, Shield of Faith Baptist Church celebrated their 11th Anniversary with over 750 adults present, hundreds of young people, and over 90 adult salvation decisions. Praise the Lord! • One can give without loving, but one cannot love without giving. – Amy Carmichael • One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters. – G. Herbert • By profession I am a soldier and take pride in that fact. But I am prouder--infinitely prouder--to be a father. A soldier destroys in order to build; the father only builds, never destroys. – Douglas MacArthur • Most people are willing to take the Sermon on the Mount as a flag to sail under, but few will use it as a rudder by which to steer. – Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. • Patriotism consists not in waving the flag, but in striving that our country shall be righteous as well as strong. – James Bryce • William P. Merrill wrote the hymn “Rise up, O Men of God!” in response to liberal teachings at the beginning of the 20th Century. Under attack were the Scriptures, Creation, and even “social” issues such as drinking alcohol. Now we are facing even stronger attacks against Christ and His church. Men and women are bending to every wind of doctrine. The Southern Baptist Convention is now embracing speaking in tongues to gain membership. Once fundamental KJB churches are embracing the alphabet soup of “Bibles.” Music in the churches is becoming more and more like the world. Dress standards are nonexistent. The attitude is, “It is OK for you to have those convictions, but don’t tell me what to do with my life.” It is time for us to RISE UP, O MEN OF GOD!! Romans 13:11, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. “ Rise up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things. Give heart and mind and soul and strength To serve the King of kings. Rise up, O men of God! The kingdom tarries long. Bring in the day of brotherhood And end the night of wrong. Rise up, O men of God! The church for you doth wait, Her strength unequal to her task; Rise up and make her great! Lift high the cross of Christ! Tread where His feet have trod. As brothers of the Son of Man, Rise up, O men of God! 6•The Voice in the Wilderness - May 2015 Virtual Edition

The USPS has just announced another rate increase which will affect the mailing of The Voice in the Wilderness. Printing is a wonderful opportunity the Lord has given. Please pray for printing and postage finances. We will need $6,000 to complete the next edition of The Voice in the Wilderness and finances to reprint The Book of Revelation along with various other resources. Your offerings make the difference! BE INFORMED--The state of North Carolina voted in favor of the Biblical view of marriage; however, a judge struck down the will of the people by overturning this stand. Now before the state legislatures, there is a bill SB2 which allows for those working in the court systems to “recuse themselves from performing duties related to marriage ceremonies due to sincerely held religious objection.” The bill initially passed both the NC House and Senate; but Governor McCrory vetoed this bill. To override the veto, a 3/5 majority would be needed (72). The last vote was 67 in favor of overturning the Veto. We recently wrote our representative who responded that during the last vote a total of 10 members were not present (6 Republican and 4 Democrats). She also said that it is a difficult challenge to override the Veto; “but, let’s look at who is ultimately in charge of all things!! Nothing News Bits FROM HERE AND THERE ingtonpost.com/2011/08/03/wheaton-collegeagain-ran_n_917342.html). Now there have is too hard for Him. Genesis 18:14.” May we be ever vigilant in praying for those who are in leadership over us! Wheaton College--This is the college that once stood for Truth and Right. Now it has succumbed to the LGBTQ agenda. As recently as 2011, Wheaton was recognized as one of the least friendly colleges to the LGBT movement (http://www.huffbeen demonstrations on campus when a former lesbian came to have a lecture during a chapel service. Wheaton has gone as far as hiring Julie Rodgers, an open homosexual. On her blog, Miss Rodgers wrote, “The best way I can describe my experience of ‘being gay,’ is that with certain women I feel the ‘it’ factor: that sense of chemistry that longs to share life with them. … Most women feel that chemistry or longing for other men … while I usually feel like ‘bros’ with men.” (http://www.worldmag. com/2014/12/wheaton_s_gay_celibate_christian) She declares herself to be a “gay celibate Christian”--a person who has homosexual desires, but doesn’t act upon them because it is a sin. The slogan for Wheaton is “For Christ and His Kingdom.” May we pray that they will return to the foundation upon which they once stood. “One of the most important documents a man ever signs is his Will. I can tell better what a man had in his heart by reading his Will than I can by reading his obituary. His obituary tells the world what his friends thought of him; his Will reveals what he had in his heart.” - A. M. Vollmer For as (a man) thinketh in his heart, so is he- Proverbs 23:7. Out of (the heart) are the issues of life - Proverbs 4:23.
