INTRODUCTION (Paul taking his leave from the leaders of the church in Ephesus) “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. ...” (Acts 20:32) When Paul took his leave from the Spirit-filled believers in Ephesus, he commended them to God and to the word of God. But Paul didn’t commend them to just any portion of the word of God. He specifically commended them to “the word of His grace.” And then Paul said what God’s word of grace is able to do, which is to build us up and to give us our inheritance. So once we are ‘in Christ’ and the Spirit of God dwells in us, we are children of God. And if we are children of God, we are heirs of God. And 11

if we are heirs of God, this means that we have an inheritance. (If you are not sure yet if you are in Christ, please have a look at our books Good News: What Jesus has already done for You, or What is the Gospel and How Can It Be Received? or Did You Receive the Holy Spirit When You Believed: An Experience That Will Empower Your Life. In all of the 3 books we explain what the gospel of Jesus Christ is, and how it can be received. Free flipbooks and PDF downloads are available at: http:// www. oberdorferministry.com). Our divine inheritance, for example, is to live in divine health. It is to live in divine blessing and prosperity. It is to live in peace and under divine protection. It is to live in joy. It is to live in success. And so on. 12

(That all doesn’t take away that Jesus has also promised us persecution.) But how can we know what our inheritance is and how can we receive it? That’s why we need to hear the word of God. So once we are ‘in Christ’ and the Spirit of God dwells in us, we need to feed on the word of grace. This booklet, which is the first of a series, is a collection of various topics all centering around the word of grace. 1 I am a Beloved Child in Whom My Father is Well Pleased 2 Jesus Has Removed the Garment of Condemnation from Me 3 I am Righteous in Christ 4 Freedom from the Religious Spirit 5 The Superior and the Inferior Testament 6 The Lenses of Law and Grace: How to Read the Bible 13
