Richard studied music extensively at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and continued his love of music after graduating, playing in numerous bands and being involved in many recording projects. He has recorded and collaborated with exceptional musicians including producer and songwriter Saverio Principini and American Idol semifinalist Jennifer Fuentes. He has produced two self-recorded albums and currently performs extensively throughout the Bay Area. He plays solo acoustically at wineries, restaurants, private parties, weddings, corporate and other events. In addition, he performs as a one-man band at night clubs and bars as well as in local cover bands on lead and backup vocals, guitar, and bass. Entertainment Richard Kubec Thank You to our Gold Sponsors Laura Garcia-Cannon anchors weekday mornings, Today in the Bay. She is a multiple Emmy Award winning journalist that began her career in broadcasting in San Francisco before moving on to report and anchor in Fresno. Prior to joining NBC Bay Area, Garcia-Cannon was an investigative reporter and anchor in Phoenix, Ariz. While there, Garcia-Cannon was honored with The Associated Press Reporter of the Year Award along with multiple Emmy and AP awards for writing and reporting. One of her fondest achievements was accepting an Emmy award in San Francisco for Best Daytime Broadcast along with her husband and co-anchor Brent Cannon, "It's great to be able to work side by side, we're a true team both on and off the air," she says. Brent and Garcia-Cannon were also recognized with a Best Daytime Newscast Award in the Bay Area by the Bay Area Women in Radio and Television. Garcia-Cannon is an avid participant in various organizations. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and serves on the Board of Trustees of her alma mater, Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and Government. Garcia-Cannon also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society as well as the Board of the Catholic Professional Business Club. When she's not on the anchor desk, depending on the season, GarciaCannon enjoys golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, reading, cooking and spending time with family and friends. Garcia-Cannon and her husband, Brent Cannon (evening news anchor), are the proud parents of triplets Katherine, Claire and Jack. Au c tion Ru le s S ilent A uction ~ • • Will begin at 6:30 pm and the tables will close at 8:00 pm. Announcements will precede closing. When the time is called, everyone must step back from the bidding tables. A bid sheet will be displayed with each item. Bids must be written on the first available line on the sheet. The increase must be in the increments indicated on each bid sheet. Once a bid is entered, it may not be removed. The highest bid at the closing time constitutes the winning bid. If the winning bid is not legible or the minimum increase is not followed, the next legible bid will be honored. In the event of a dispute, an Auction Official will determine the winning bid. Under NO circumstances may any item or the bid sheet be removed from the table during the silent auction. Will begin approximately at 8:15 pm following the Heads or Tails game and will continue until all items have been sold. Each item will begin with a predetermined minimum bid. Bidding increments will vary and will be determined by the auctioneer. To enter a bid, raise your event program with the bidder number facing the auctioneer. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer will be the winner. In the event of a dispute, the auctioneer will determine the successful bidder. The bidder will immediately receive a claim form from an Auction Assistant to sign. The amount will be added to your checkout total. Individuals who bid on an item together should select one person to represent the group. All items must be paid for in full on the night of the auction, including items purchased by groups. Payments can be made by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Checkout will begin approximately 30 minutes after Fund a Need for St. Catherine.
