.i was in high school when we studied literature our tutor for english was like a musician who would play the notes and the whole class danced to his tune he had good command on the subject and a passion for teaching he knew each one of us by our name family hobby too class room environment remained healthy and positive the school was recognized by his name and subject firstly in the entire town the love for him was mutual and my eyes go wet while describing him since he is no more in this mortal world but he has always stayed in heart frankly his benchmarks have always motivated me to take up the profession and the respect that he enjoyed from students could never be quantified the mediocre teacher tells the good teacher explains the superior teacher demonstrates the great teacher inspires by william arthur is one of my lovable quotes but that was 1980.he was a great teacher indeed three decades have gone since then college canteen echoes the abusive words of students staring at teachers wearing a shameless smile students miss out at basic courtesy on occasions volcanic aggression and react-first-then-listen attitude msrajeswaripandey inspires me to pen down few words for my students whom i immensely love and care for in my 17 years of class room departmentofece lectures i proudly claim to have carved out 20-30 ceos who are spread in different parts of the world heading and leading fortune 500s this is the only pretty contribution from me to this world probably my most rewarding achievement honestly they are different hence could make difference to the world they were from ordinary families but with extra ordinary brains and mannerisms whatever little recognition that is being carried forward for me as a teacher is the fact that i was fortunate enough to have those jewels my students a teacher s purpose is not to create students in his own image but to develop students who can create their own image today teaching is not a lost art but the respect for it is a lost tradition basic elements taught in gurukul i.e respect for teacher trust in teacher and commitment towards subject were the essence of learning equally competent was teacher who knew disciples personally expressed love took care and monitored progress individually so the question which reverberate my mind is that where those good old days have gone or is something lacking on the part of teacher hurry up aggression unrest is being demonstrated everywhere by the student community in general lastly both need to assess and understand each other so that the bonding reaches the zenith again don t forget it was dronacharya who molded arjuna to hit the bull s eye a hyperlink to your memories might come from the relationship of mr debraj sahai and michelle mcnally from black w h a t s goingon are any of you into dancing and all said miss flawless hairdo poking her face into my pint sized kitchen i had spotted this female a few more times inside the hostel most of those times being when her lemur like face was covered with some filthy green face-pack i was expecting to hear an extremely shrill and cacophonic voice from this clone of a mole rat but was unreservedly taken aback by the maturity and optimum feminism in it my roomy gave her an utterly blank expression and vigorously shook her head i on the contrary was not that much in favor of a spontaneous denial this delay cost me more than i would ve ever expected miss green face pack cleared her throat in a very oh-so you-actuallyare-interested kind of manner i have always fancied dance it brings me utmost delight and rapture to break through all the social shackles that bind my limbs for a few minutes and synchronizing them with music i love watching a crowd cheer for me or applaud after my performance adequate or not that is what my passion is i drew my eyes away from the nail paint bottle up with audacity glinting in my eyes and bluntly said yup i m into a bit of dancing cool we have dance auditions for selection of the dance team tomorrow this team will be performing in the fest that is coming up in february come to the civil block 3rd floor at 6 tomorrow she said inspecting me from head to toe saying this she left the kitchen the next day i found myself peeping tentatively into this excessively crowded room which was basically intended to be a classroom going by the heaps of broken furniture at one end of the class i was accompanied by my intimate group of first year friends all of whom were trying to camouflage their desire to participate with their intention to cheer the performers and specially me nevertheless i was intensively thankful to them for being there with me whatsoever the reason the audience was undisputedly the most noteworthy aspect of the whole audition it was a vivacious concoction of the most sophisticated and academically recognized cluster of students and the innately rowdy and raucous bunch of what one would call hooligans with unjust modesty they were present there with the sole purpose of rejuvenation after an extremely monotonous day of endless torment and hours of ordeal by the donors of knowledge whose eagerness has proven to be a genuine reason of our claustrophobia it is by acting as a sheer audience in such activities that they get to unwind themselves and ease themselves out and we the participants were supposed to satiate their desire to be entertained while simultaneously being put to the test by the panel of judges i could recall an affable senior s word from last night you re going for the dance audition aren t you she had said with an intriguingly sly smile it ll be fun you re not really affected by oafish hooting incessantly interrupting your performance right because if you are think again honey and smirked away in the most renegade fashion i bashfully glanced at the audience as if making a final plea of mercy a few fiendish second years caught my glance and started pointing and giggling utterly nauseated by this excessively refined segment of my audience i turned towards my friends they gave me a thumbs up and patted me gleefully the only not so hostile people other than my friends were the dance society members a chubby girl with a very comely face and startling grey eyes directed me to join the participants my friends were waving madly at me trying their best to make me feel more confident it is just so amazing how delightfully nice your friends can turn out to be at times i gave them a shy wave and smiled back weakly trying my best to conceal my nervousness but i bet it http dcetimes.org 7th edition auditioning your confidence page 13 only looked as if i had a severe toothache my hands were turning into ice and my feet felt numb thought i would hardly be able to budge them ever again and in front of this audience no way as i looked at my friends happily laughing and cheering as a secure section of the audience i felt like some kind of dead meat the first performance was stunning the guy looked as if he had never bothered to raise his nose from a book to actually throw a casual glance at a dance video but his moves were amazingly crisp and enthralling by the end of the next few performances i had given up all hopes of being selected all i prayed for now was the assurance that i would stand frozen as the music would be turned on as the audition proceeded i realized the audience was not as irreverent as i had initially perceived they never booed anybody they never embarrassed anybody and irrespective of how pathetically outrageous their comments or their activities were not to forget the darn cell cameras that they were flashing at th e performers i almost resisted the temptation of smashing a few of them myself the truth is they did add vivacity and fun to the very idea of auditions my performance was by all standards amazing i got a fairly appreciative response modesty is my favorite policy the grey eyed dame told me i was pretty good and my friends were simply gaga over my performance i loved the auditions i vividly remember every single bit of it and it does not all have to do with it being an excellent platform to exhibit my dancing abilities but also because it gave me the confidence and the assurance that once you connect to your heart and hand over the reigns of your mind the rest of the world does not matter to you all that really does matter is the ecstasy you experience once your heart feels satiated aakanksha mishra electric shock well first of all don t get scared by the title as everyone is fine in our campus here we are talking about the electric car yes we think we all would agree that the electric car in dtu did give us a shocking pleasant surprise when we saw it on the dtu ring road what to say about the dtu 0001 we all were proud of our college when we noticed the pleasant vehicle although walking in the campus kept us fit but still the way looks like miles during the burning summer but no worries now as our own cool e-car is here to describe the technical part let me inform you that it is electrically powered with an eco friendly nature with dtu moving towards a green future the vehicle fulfils all the norms and standards it has a seating capacity of about 6-8 people to describe the ride first of all i must say that i was really privileged to enjoy a ride in it as i am one of the few lucky boys to do that as girls are more welcomed in the vehicle prince the ride in the vehicle is very smooth that s why we have coined it as smoothie with our campus as big as 163.9 acre from gate to departments department to lab and hostels located very far from the academic blocks this vehicle is a big aid to come on time in classes as if this was the reason for us not coming on time one big benefit which some of us have enjoyed is that we have explored a lot many new areas of the big campus but certainly with the college fest coming this month and so many events to look forward to smoothie will prove to be boon for dtu students as well as the outsiders with many more smoothies set to be imported in the campus the journey will surely be more pleasurable than ever for sure prince jain and shatakshi sharma 2nd year ee

f estfrenzy we just want it big http dcetimes.org 7th edition page 14 it is not possible to answer this question in a line just because of the fact that freshers in dtu come in all varieties freshers are people who have never seen or if seen then never organized a fest before these are the people who expect a lot from their college and their seniors organizers i asked my year mates about their expectations and got an amazing range of answers many of them wanted it to be big event huge mighty a big budget big sponsors huge performances big celebrity guests and while saying all this they kept throwing their arms apart trying to give me a measure of how big they want it to be so seniors `big is the `in word freshers are not one of those people who understand the real deal of organizing a big fest they just want it they are the freshest people in the college just out of the not so big school oven there was nothing major that happened in this one semester for most of us i am here representing the community of freshers that we could rejoice or be nostalgic about our hopes of having the time of our life here in college had begun to almost fade away and then came in a ray of hope the fest season alright i maybe exaggerate a bit after all we enjoyed well sort of our first freshers party in this one semester but still you have to agree nothing compares to the curiosity and the frenzy that surrounds this fest season that is a fresher saying to you i do not know about others some of the responses were more precise and to be honest i liked it quite much they somewhat went like this no classes jam sessions full on masti night out at discos rain dances games and the weirdest of them all free refreshments during the day including coffee preferably in a bigger cup dream on kids :p quite many of them gave balanced responses keeping in mind that on of the fests troika was a technical fest they wanted to learn something at the end of all of it at the same time enjoying the festivities each one of us has some specific area of interest and our expectations are pinned on to this fest to help us show to everyone what all we can do while at the same time concealing what all we cannot with so many opportunities available none of us for reasons so obvious would like to let them go waste in doing petty jobs around the petty jobs that i am talking of need not be mentioned here i guess freshers don t want that events clash in timings they want it to be more publicized they expect to learn not just technical skills but also managing organizing speaking skills they want to try out many things so that they can decide their best interests the most boring answer i got was `official holidays of college i am not sure what it actually means but if it means `stay at home time then i proudly present it the most boring answer award one of the reasonable expectations was that girls hostel timings should be increased and with that i don t mean it to be 9 but some real deal like 11:30 or 12 i guess i have been fair enough in compiling all the interviews but i am still left with some answers i was totally confused about so i leave you with the weirdest answers ever like in the movies when the unfinished takes are added at the end of it the question what do you expect from the fests coming up note -i haven t added or deleted anything in these answers this was all what i got from them ans1 ohyeah!thefests.iamnotsure ans2 idon twannaparticipate.leavemealone ans3 areyoutakingpart ans4 manypeoplesothatwecangetmoremamypocopantscustomers ans5 treatfromseniorstofirstyearseverynight rangoli saxena sugandha ans6 howcomeyougettowritethisarticle se ist yr ans7 robotics i absolutely adore even sems in dtu and i have my many reasons first and foremost one has got plenty of time in hand to worry about academics and get your mind off it all unlike in odd sems when mid sems appear out of nowhere even before you realise that the sem has started there is all the time in the world to go for stuff that gets your adrenaline pumping come even sems and the campus is abuzz with preparations of an umpteen number of fests technical and non technical alike notice boards covered in all hues of posters like an artist s palette not an iota of bare board visible fighting for their `places of honour just like their respective `owners the so many societies here that are fighting for the venues timings participation et al that s the fest season for you fuchas the ones with some technical incline with their new found excitement being freshly exposed to the world of embedded systems robots bubbling with excitement are raring to give it a go and try their luck hardware algos programs are being made behind those closed doors of the hostel rooms some perish and some sustain mere students of dce are on the path of becoming engineers that s the magic of the fest season in dce so you have made your well calculated choices after much head banging ,as to which all events to attend and be a part of ,but there is morehead banging that is to come what if all that you have thought of happens at the same time prelims of one clash with the finale of the other so there is one another important thing this fest season teaches you weighing all your options and making decisions this way you need not go running hither and thither from one canopy to another.and amongst this all organising participating running around don t forget the essence of these fests enjoy the few days this fun lasts sanchita gupta 2nd year, ece it s different whom did romeo love vj s pj s 1 i would like to ask my friends, seniors and juniors that what they mean by the term engineering well lemme tell you my answer it means a ring near an engine who loved rose veronica did not like jim and john mike did not like mary jill did not like the gentleman who loved her the question is whom did romeo love given 1 john loved girl-1 who loved jim 2 romeo loved girl-2 who loved mike 3 rose loved gentleman-1 who loved mary 4 veronica loved gentleman-2 who loved rose 5 veronica did not like jim and john 6 mike did not like mary reasoning 7 item 3
