· of cial greeting dear exhibition participants and visitors due to the reforms initiated by our national leader and former president heydar aliyev who introduced contemporary norms and standards under the leadership of president ilham aliyev signi cant changes in all areas of our public political social and economic life have positively in uenced the living standards and economy of the population they have also led to a rapid increase in the number of vehicles countrywide which is a real indicator of our positive growth currently the number of vehicles owned by individuals and entities across azerbaijan exceeds 982,000 over the last two years alone more than 136,000 motor-vehicles were imported into the country as a result of our country s day-to-day development the improvement of the people s welfare and the development of traf c infrastructure the number of high-speed comfortable motorcars is continuously increasing and while the number of vehicles and the intensity of traf c are increasing state traf c police stp of cers who ful ll their of cial duties in ensuring traf c safety are also provided with up-to-date technological equipment and vehicles the recent amendments in the laws guiding the of cial activity of the stp the speci c tasks assigned to the traf c police of cers by the senior management of the ministry of internal affairs mia the use of up-to-date technological facilities including the installation of an automated management system and special surveillance cameras and new traf c lights in baku as well as the service arrangement and implementation of activities are indicators of the care by the state leader for this sector and the positive outcomes of the radical changes implemented in this sector in the recent years can be clearly observed for instance in spite of the annual increase in the number of vehicles countrywide by 60-80,000 vehicles each year the number of traf c accidents and people killed and wounded in those accidents is decreasing year-by-year it is worth mentioning that the proper technical state of vehicles and their compliance with up-todate standards and security requirements are among key factors for the protection of the life and the health of drivers currently motor-car trademarks produced in all developed countries are used in azerbaijan and the increasing interest in this sector the people s desire to buy more comfortable and safer vehicles motivate them to gather more detailed information about motor-cars therefore the motor-car exhibition plays a signi cant role and the 7th azerbaijan international automotive exhibition autoshow 2011 has great signi cance in that context we hope that the motorcars spare parts accessories and service equipment demonstrated in this exhibition will greatly impress the guests and will assist them in making relevant choice i convey my greetings to all the exhibition participants and guests and wish them every success kamran aliyev department head main stp department mia 7th azerbaijan international automotive exhibition 7
