D Our Teachers affect eternity... ear Bryanstonians.. As we come to the end of my second year as Principal of Bryanston High School, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents, learners and my staff for their continued support and motivation. Education at Bryanston High can only be successful if we work together as a united team. It is sad that at this time of the year we say goodbye to four of our teachers and I would like to thank them for the hard work and dedication that they have given to our school: Mrs Engelbrecht, who helped out during the latter part of the year; Mrs Lategan who is moving back to Cape Town; Ms Winson who is moving into another field of education and to Ms Pretorius who is retiring after 31 years at Bryanston High. Your contribution to this school has led to many of our successes and you will all be sorely missed by staff, parents and learners. May you enjoy your new endeavours in the years to come! A big thank you to Mr Ron Tavener, who is leaving the governing body due to his daughter completing her matric this year. Although Mr Tavener was only a member for a short while, he was instrumental in many of the new projects at the school. We are looking forward to our Matric results and our other grades’ results and hope that all the hard work from staff and learners will be reflected in the final results. A reminder to parents that we have school governing body elections next year, April/May, and I urge all parents who would like to get involved to make themselves available to be elected onto our governing body. We wish Mrs Lobban well on her accouchement leave and look forward to welcoming a new little member to our family at Bryanston High School! In conclusion, I would like to wish all Bryanstonians a happy festive season; a time to rest and reflect on a job well done! If you are travelling, travel safely and may you return next year filled with enthusiasm and renewed energy to start off 2015! Yours sincerely John Skelton Welcome Mrs. Lauren Streng Marketing

M atrics’ Last Exam... Mixed emotions filled the air at Bryanston High on the 25th of November, the completion of the final Matric English paper marked the last day of school for many of our Matric group. Learners joyfully celebrated the end of their exams but embraced teachers in gratitude and sadness as they greeted each other for the last time. As the Matrics exited the hall they were surrounded by a tunnel of teachers, who were there not only to show how proud they were of them, but also handed out True Blue ice creams as a parting gift to each of our learners. We wish the class of 2014 the very best for the upcoming results, we look forward to another year of outstanding achievements!
